Kalidou Koulibaly

I've seen Napoli concede very similar goals while he's been playing, it may not happen often but it still happens.

I've seen Liverpool concede them. Everybody makes mistakes, including Koulibaly.

But the mistakes v Lyon were of a level you would not normally see, in top level football & definitely not usual if KK was playing.

His game is usually to drop in & sprint with the attacker. If his partner is the one doing it, then all bets are indeed off.

And neither can the club which explains why they’re going for Kouli.
If we still concede a ton of goals with Laporte, Aké and Koulibaly, then something in our tactics needs to change.

We play a high line with the risk of through-balls so we need defenders with speed to be able to catch-up with the opposition. But we also need defenders capable of sniffing out the danger in the first place. Great defenders like KK and Aké check both of these boxes. We’ll see a massive improvement in our defensive play, hopefully.

We have missed Ferno protecting our back line. Although, Rodri is a good player, he does not have Ferno's awareness of danger. Our CB's got away with it, when Ferno played in front of them.
Aka, has played DM. He could be the answer there in certain games.
What are your thoughts?

He was a very good defender at Southampton & Celtic, but not at the current level.
I would say he's just got more protection and a better team around him, making him look better and less exposed in certain situations.

Everybody makes mistakes. That's the only thing that is relevant to make the original post about not conceding the goals against Lyon being fictitious, you can't possibly know what would or wouldn't have happened.

Well we could pretend Aguero would cope the same in front of unmissable chances, as Jason Lee would, & occasionally be correct, when Aguero has a shite day. But on the whole, he'll score. On the whole, KK will cope wirh situations like Lyon's goals & defend it.

Like Aguero, it's what he does.

See that's more like it, rather than the outrageous original quote about specific incidents in which you couldn't possibly know what would happen.

Ridiculous man. If our stance is that Napoli are cunts why does it matter if we negotiate through an agent or directly through ADL? Just don’t do business with these clowns for fucks sake.

This. If you want to sign a player, deal with the club. If you dont want to deal with a club, dont sign one of their players.

I know what I'm almost certain would happen, which is why I consider it worth a gamble on KK.

As I'm almost certain the same City defenders will be doing the same stuff as they did v Lyon, in the Prem in February if they are the partnership we continue to rely on.

70m + Bonuses, thats equal to the value of 21 years old Kai Havertz !

Anyway, when he come he will put an end to the weakness of CB excuse.

Have a look at the first game back v Liverpool, watch them lump the ball down the middle & see how Laporte & Garcia deal with it.

Then watch the Lyon game & see if it's any better.
So, failing to deal with an over the top ball in a game and a bad game makes him worse than Fernandinho? Been our best defender consistently since his arrival. Easily.
