EDS. Wouldn’t even let him train with the First Team. If we are rebuilding our defence, and he has picked his poison, then he can be no part of the effort.

Khoulibaly & Stones as RCBs
Laporte & Ake as LCBs

I’d take that, esp knowing we have Ferna, Rodri, Walker, THB as back ups in a pinch!

He’s not a multi-million pound asset though is he? In our accounts, he’s literally worthless and given he’s already expressed his desire to leave and go back to Barca at the end of the season for free and Barca being unwilling to pay for him now, he’s not worth anything as we couldn’t sell him to Barca or any other club. His only value is his contribution as a player to the squad this season, and if we’re relying on him at any point this season for anything other than giving others a rest which THB can do then we’re in trouble. Many are advocating letting him rot in the EDS for a year, that’s less beneficial to us.

this barca crap is not good for the lad and city should sell to somebody else right now

If Barca want him this summer then he is still very much a multi million pound asset. Giving him away for nothing just to prove some vague ethical point to an organisation who have demonstrated for all the world to see that they have no ethics anyway would be cuckold behaviour

I personally wouldn't like to see him in the squad unless we have an injury crisis. My reasons are:

a) I don't think he's good enough

b) I think we should prioritise game time for players that are likely to be with us longer term.

It's not about punishing him. He's made a decision on what he feels is best for him (and I have no problem with that) but we have to do what's best for us. Ideally that would be selling him and brining some money in. If not, then he should be 5t or 6th choice.
 
This thread's taken a pretty funny turn. If they want to pay 20-30 million for him they still can, but if not he sticks around as an extra centerback for the year. Pep's not sending him to the EDS or something, lol.
 
I'm sure the club will be fairly relaxed about this - a year is a long time in football and hopefully he can continue developing. I think some on here forget how inexperienced he is. He may find himself really enjoying life and if Barca struggle under Ronald McKoeman then who knows. Either way I can see him being a good back up when needed.
