Not sure that's accurate to be honest boss.

Selling off council houses and not building any might be though.

it has to be accurate? If 300,000 people more live in a country each year they have to have somewhere to live?

I get that and agree but equally the fact that council estates are being inundated with migrants are putting pressure on local facilities for people who have been paying in the system all their lives like my mother. Take a trip to Langley it will open your eyes.

Lots of people die and move out too......?

What are NET migration figures? 270,000 in?

Whatever we need to build more houses. Not just for profit.

For years there have been housing shortages.

It's a complicated issue.

I've seen what you're saying in Moston .....I'm not denying it............but there are problems that have existed since the 80's too.......

I think you Ended up agreeing with me there.

How do you feel about younger folks saying Salford is just a part of Manchester?

Asking for a friend, I come in peace.
Lol,no worries mate.
Its a bit of a quandry for me,we are our own city, and i am a Salfordian not a Manc, but, thank fuck,i have followed and loved our special team all my life.

We are full, something has to give, how is it that people who have paid into the system for so may years get less than migrants ? Its a farce.
You're right mate......It's an unfair world.

Bit like my Uncle who worked all his life...bought a house and saved money.
Only to have it all taken off him to pay for care. Others who pissed it away getting it for nowt.

Yeah no problem. I'm one of those who acknowledges the City of Salford being it's own thing. I work with a lot of student who rent in Salford who seem to think it's just a district of Manchester, you see. I'm astonished that they don't see the significant difference that two cities can be 1 mile apart from each other.

No shame in being a Salford Blue, especially when you consider we have Scottish Blues, Welsh Blues, Australian and American Blues. :)

Was he put in a shitty cheap care home like the poor?
Or did his sensible financial planning mean he lived out his days in greater care and comfort?

Borough care......Stockport.....Just a care home.....he couldnt afford the hotel type places where they get rid of you once the money has gone

Yeah, I didn’t really get that or the mayor of Salford either. the plan seemed a reasonable compromise. Building affordable homes on derelict land and in return pump some of the profit into refurbishing the mansion that was derelict. Everyone’s a winner surely.
The Major did the thing local authority councilors do far too much. He bowed to misinformed public opinion. instead of educating his electorate and fully explaining that the only bits to be built on would be the areas already developed and derelict. and that there wasnt an alternative proposal to renovate the mansion. The problem of the derelict mansion and lack of housing will just be passed on to the next major.

He has not got a pot to piss in and is clueless. His new apartments next to the mill conversion has sold 9 of the 75 units and it is finished. The spec is poor and build quality not good. The mill is 3 million over budget and was due to be completed September 19 and is now forcast to be 2 years late. It is not his money. He is a front for a high net worth individual. And the lines he is spouting are just utter cringe.
Thats an interesting inside take. I guessed the funding situation.

Always better to be a Salford Blue and the wretched alternative.
