Are you saying that last time ‘we blinked’? Surely not.
Unelected bureaucrat taking political decisions?

This is why you've been so wrong about Brexit. There are not 'Many different versions' of it, what you mean are the incessant different negative connotations
placed on it post vote, by remainers. The simple facts are that we voted to leave, which means leaving the EU and all its tenets, we leave the SM, ECJ, and FOM. Current discussions are locked because the EU will not accept that it is now dealing with an independent state, as such a state would not accept any foreign laws to be accepted prior to talks, or accept ceding territory. Which countries that the EU has trade deals with, does?
The phrase "which means" definitely working overtime. I'm not sure if you really believe that different versions of Brexit are remainer inventions. If so I really have wasted all that time writing so many times that Johnson promised that when we leave the EU "we will still be in a free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border".This is why you've been so wrong about Brexit. Really ? As forecast by many on this site ..... its already happening.
and the latest Covid19 legislation also allowed companies to make people redundant without going through the usual consultation period.

Can we have another referendum then? You all said we'd have to fulfil the democratic mandate to leave before we could vote to rejoin, so can we now have a referendum on rejoining? Don't tie it in with any party having to have it as a policy. Just can we have a referendum on rejoining? And don't bother with on what terms. If Rejoin wins, we'll tell you what "this means".They don't seem to understand - certainly they don't respect - democracy
We already have examples of managing food processed to different standards I suppose with regard to allergens ( nut free/made in factory that contains nuts) so I suppose it's possible to do similar to protect EU export markets. I actually thinking more possible (and viable) that whichever market has the higher standards will settle pace, as either losing a significant market or running two production facilities would outweigh any cost benefit of an inferior US product - assuming of course the EU market is significant.Importation of chlorinated chicken would mean any deal with the Eu over foodstuffs would be in danger as they wouldn't want that shit entering the food chain in whatever form be it nuggets , burgers, chicken pieces , soups, stock etc etc
We're probably mixing or crises here (covid/brexit) that's OK as the two will of course overlap - just don't get upset when the Govt play this game right back at you by blaming any brexit ills upon covid.
I'm not sure what the obsession with immigration / foreigners is from Remainers? Controlling borders presumablymeans with regard to trade - the Geneva convention which is nothing to do with EU membership already provides for asylum, and non EU immigration is unaffected. EU immigration will (hopefully) be made straightforward by some sort of agreement which will also apply to UK citizens in the EU.Interesting quote from anti establishment hard man and cheif brexit negotiator Lord david frost
"I don't think that we are scared of this at all. We want to get back the powers to control our borders and that is the most important thing."
Nowt to do with immigration then?
Ah, there's the rub. Govt wants people back to work so as not to wreck the economy, but that nice upward V will face the Brexit slump. Maybe they really don't believe there will be a slump - maybe those economic forecasts that they've kept secret don't predict that (oh yeah, sure). Maybe Cummings is calculating that getting people back to work will trigger a second Covid wave that will disguise the Brexit slump (and he's already been wondering if Brexit is a mistake). We're probably mixing or crises here (covid/brexit) that's OK as the two will of course overlap - just don't get upset when the Govt play this game right back at you by blaming any brexit ills upon covid.
What Brexit ills ? Are you saying it wont be as promised?

No it doesn't mean with regard to trade - we were going to be in a free trade zone from Iceland to the Russian border, if you recall.I'm not sure what the obsession with immigration / foreigners is from Remainers? Nothing to do with brexit, and it's boring and obsessive to assume everything is. Getting people back into the office is a a way for Boris to protect the financial interests of his buddies that rent out office space. A lot of rich real estate owners stand to lose if we work out that their shiny glass buildings can be replaced by us staying at home with a 200 quid laptop and broadband.Ah, there's the rub. Have a nice day.
Maybe they could call it a 'free movement' agreement?I'm not sure what the obsession with immigration / foreigners is from Remainers? Except the one between GB and NI of course. The EU can look after that one.Interesting quote from anti establishment hard man and cheif brexit negotiator Lord david frost

I see that Frost's mention of controlling borders has been a cue for a flurry of posts about a "remainer obsession" with immigration. Just not from Remainers.Immigration has been an electoral issue for donkeys years.
I can remember the Tough on Immigration policy under Blair's Labour.
Having control of your borders is perfectly normal. Its what every country in the world has.
Why do some feel we should not have control of our borders?

Read any manifesto over the last 30 years and the word "control" will figure highly in regards immigration on them all.
Do we need immigration in this country and is it welcome? Yes.
Should we have full control of it and who we allow to settle and work? Yes.
Is it right we are open to the whole world instead of FOM for just EU citizens? Yes.
