I agree. Once the dust has settled, there will be a presidential election, which Font will win, and Xavi will come in as manager. As a result Messi will stay.

I know I'd be cutting my nose off to spite my face, but I would get rid asap. I wouldn't keep Garcia, who has openly made his intensions clear.
It would be a massive kick in the teeth for someone like Tosin, who is City through and through, to see Garcia selected before him.

It's also such a key position. If you keep some out of contract, fancy dan, twat attacker hanging around, you can always chuck them on for ten minutes to nick a goal. Central defenders are the bedrock of the team & even if Garcia was the 2nd coming of Vincent Kompany, having him as key part ot the machine, when you know for a fact he could go, at Christmas, or whenever & someone else has to step in, is ridiculous.

The fact that even Zinchenko is a better defender than him, having him in the squad, makes it ridiculous beyond all reason.

All we are doing is taking a risk, to prepare a player for another team, or, at best, give someone who doesn't want to be here, the opportunity to learn his game at our expense, maybe change his mind & put up with us, if nothing better comes along.

Mesnwhile, is Pep going to tell people like Jaydon Braaf, they have to be better & work harder to get 2 mins on the pitch, or Stones, Mahrez, for that matter ?

Not sure Zinchenko is a better defender and the manager thinks Otto Stones and any on Loan or in Academy ain't either. Garcia will stay I think if necessary but I would bet on him leaving regardless of the Messi situation.

Even if he stays, he isn't playing 'most games' with Laporte, Koulibaly and Ake ahead of him. That's not counting Fernandinho and possibly Stones if he stays.

If Garcia doesn't move this window, I don't he will see much of the field at all.
