I think most Brexiteers should take note of the advice in this article:

It certainly echoes my thinking - and those with direct experience of managing major negotiations will know that when the other party suggest that it might be a good idea to reduce tension by switching out the lead negotiators - that is a sure sign they are on that back foot and concerned about the effectiveness of your lead.

I have said for months that Johnson is the weak link and I just hope that he keeps out of direct involvement and just supports Frost and others - let's hope his vanity does not lead him to get involved with von der Leyden directly - like he did with Varadkar - that would not be good.

The UK has ended up in a place where the EU now have to recognise the size of the majority the government holds which means that they can be confident in bringing forward primary legislation - they will be dismayed after enjoying all those years of Remainer duplicity at Westminster.

Johnson just needs to hold his nerve and let professionals lead on this - and please FFS not get personally involved

One of the professionals resigned yesterday over the position that is being taken. Whatever deal we wanted we are just eroding all credibility on our part of the process and that includes degrading our ability to negotiate.

We are meant to be the creators of the law based parliamentary system yet here we are advocating bypassing it, even the Tories themselves don't agree it's right.

Not seen much of Bob Neil before - his standing has shot up in the eyes of many over the last 24 hours. Obviously doesn't feel like he needs to temper his words given this tweet. There will be many more who agree with him. Lets see how it plays out.

No. How can he hold them off? In a limited way, the Scottish Parliament will ignore UK law, and have their own referendum. That apparently is the new legal defence. I only broke the Referendums Act in a limited way.

We are going to be taunted with that one for the rest of our days.

Agreed. Although ‘****’ is still acceptable. In fact anything that is good old fashioned Anglo-Saxon. None of this modern rubbish.

Being called a **** on here is a right of passage and now acceptable language.

Its also difficult to argue when you are a ****.

I am a ****.

I've just watched the video of him again and watched the government reaction again. Imagine saying in public to the chairman of the justice committee that yes this breaks international law.

"Yes judge i did murder him and yes that is against the law, but in my defence I did it in a very specific way".

Pressure will mount and mount today and i think come a vote, enough will rebel to defeat this Bill and rightly so.

I wasnt that arsed yesterday and see it very much as a negotiating tactic but this morning, its not only a shit negotiating tactic, its just plain wrong and not the way to go about things.

Both sides are talking tough and looking like not moving right now but that is natural and the negotiation has to play out without shit like this.

The sooner this is over, the sooner the Tories can bin this man (and his puppet master, Cummings) who is not fit to lead and the sooner we can see out the remaining years of this government with someone semi competent at the helm we hope and the next GE can judge them.

Despite voting remain I have supported and defended Brexit because in my experience a lot of people did vote for it and do want it... Whatever it may end up being!

The path we are talking at the moment though just makes us look like tits and in the end they are playing a game that won't even benefit the people.

As you have said I also want to bin this tin pot dictatorship and bring back some statesmenship and common sense, christ I'd even have May or Cameron back.

But have you been called a senile old ****? I wear that as a badge of pride. Not that I'm any of the three descriptors you understand.

Id have an issue with that. Ageism is a bit of a thing on here from some and on a forum where any sort of ism is rightly frowned on and got rid of, this one still creeps in.

I'm no fan of Scots Independance but you cant argue with it. The SNP will go from strenth to strength under a Boris government but of course he can just hold them off - it will be his sucessors as PM that will have to deal with the fall out.

50 odd opposition votes at risk? I'm sure some of the party machine want them gone.

boris is a political historian and wants to go down in political history as the man who got The UK out of the EU.

he will do that with a deal or without one . Then in January he will go and his speech will be

I have been ill and worked hard since being in intensive care .I have a young family And I now need to focus on my health and my family. I wanted to get brexit done as I promised you but now that is done it is now down to a new prime minister to take this great country forward on the international stage.

he will then fuck off to live on the yacht in the Greek isles and his parties will become the stuff of legend.

Johnson will be forgotten about very quickly.

To be honest, we don't really do remembering PM's all that much anyway with a few notable exceptions.
