Signed Shane Duffy the centre half from Brighton, good signing for them. Thought him and Dunk were a better partnership for the Seagulls than the lad they went with last season

I have been having arguments with my mates about him. I havent really saw him play and what is on youtube I have not been impressed by. In fact I dont think he looks that good. I know youtube clips can be misleading making people look good, but in his case it's the opposite, he looks shit. I hope they are right though, but I am not convinced. Good traditional old school centre half, not the quickest but will head and throw himself in the way of absolutely everything and has some leadership qualities as well. I think he's like a more highly proven version of Scott McKenna. Tall, strong, throwback like, good backs to the wall defender. Not ideal if you want to play a high line & play out from the back, but should be good at set pieces at both ends.
Think he will do well.

Again though why do the board wait until after a champions league defeat to make what looks like a good signing.

they’ve got that lad back from Leeds now who’s just signed a new five year deal. White I think his name is. Duffy was probably surplus to requirements.

Saw a tweet this morning saying City would listen to offers for Paddy Robert's. Like everything I see I never believe as I have been down that road before. I dont even know if we would be still keen, but for me we should be. Anybody confirm or deny that tweet?

He did OK on loan at Middlesbrough in the second half of last season and I think Warnock would like to take him back. He is at the age now where he needs a permanent move after years of loans of varying degrees of success and also a series of injuries that have disrupted his progress. Boro or Celtic on a permanent deal would be good moves for him, he has no future with us. He was brilliant for us. I was fucked off when we didnt try and sign him. A permanent state of affairs for me with our bastard board. I would love to see him back, he has had a hard few years, but, in the right place and supported he will again shine. I just hope it's with us, but, I wont hold my breath.
