The Conservative Party

Some very Brexit specific debating in the House today and the ERG passing comment on it through their chair Sir Bernard Jenkin.

I wonder why the Brexit Ultra and former Govt minister in his 50's Mark Francios didn't attend the house and appears to have left his post as chair of the ERG? A post he only assumed in March 2020. Looking like there is a definite reason which dare not speak its name.....
Penfold being a naughty boy. Who'd have thunk it?

"total disregard" for the House of Commons is remarkably strong language for the Speaker to describe the govt behaviour over covid restrictions.

“If the minister wants to be difficult by ignoring parliament we can make it even more difficult for him”

The first time I’ve seen the speaker show emotional anger rather than reading from his script like a robot.

The PM showed he was listening by fucking off immediately the point of order was made.

Given the fact that the Speaker made a point that Hancock asked for permission to make statements which was arranged, it's not surprising, but as you say he was furious.

PMQs had finished, but until the Speaker announces a break, Johnson couldn't leave. It was very well managed.

Proper The Thick of It stuff here from Hancock. Scary that we have the most incompetent government in living memory at the worst possible time in our recent history.

God, it's so depressing that these people are making decisions that are going to change all of our lives.

Nothing surprises me any more - the bar is set so depressingly low and many who's politics are based solely on Brexit will forgive this pillock, Johnson and Cummings anything. I am not sure if Trump shot someone on 5th Ave he actually would get away with it now given his current standing however I think some on here would look for excuses if Cummings shot someone on Oxford Street whilst Johnson shagged their mum and Hancock strangled their granny.

That's the definition of a media-trained shit-eating grin. It's about as convincing as Gordon Brown's, but at least Brown had the intelligence to not do his fake smile when being asked about serious issues.

Fucking hell, all he needed was a clown outfit and a squirty flower and he could be in the circus.

So......in classic deflection mode Johnson last night suggested we can have a Moonshot - a home testing kit to give instant results - but the technology doesn't exist yet.

Today we have Schapps out there reinforcing the story that this would be a game changer if only it actually existed.

Leaked Whitehall reports say that this Moonshot programme alone will cost £100bn.

All this from a party that said Labours £80bn plans for the whole of the economy for a whole parliamentary term were ruinous.

Schapps went full shit-eating grin when challenged by Charlie Stayt this morning that the 'now' needed fixing and there were no suggestions as to how.

This should be hammered into every minister who shows his face.

Its cloud cuckoo land stuff.

There will still be Johnson loyalists who support him and think he is wonderful though. Why they do makes my head hurt so much I fear it may fall off, roll down the street and be eaten by a magic tiger from Bengal

Arf. Let’s hope Iran doesn’t follow our recent example when it comes to International Agreements. They should just email Raab a copy of the AG’s statement with the names crossed out.

Haha, reneging on elements of the WA now comparable to the nuclear weapons programme of a nation that armed IS and has vowed to wipe Israel off the planet? OK bob.

Yes.

Reneging is reneging. And reneging on an agreement with 27 other European countries including Ireland matters. We don’t renege. It’s how we sell ourselves. Part of our brand. The UK is stable and observes the rule of law. You want to do business here, you are more than welcome. No nasty surprises, no institutional corruption.

Takes centuries to establish, but you can kill it in a day.

Hahahahahahahaha. You have been telling us for the last 9 months that the UK was already doomed and there would be no trade business after brexit. Overplayed the hand maybe? This is the problem bob, if you call everyone stupid you've no words left for when proper stupid happens.
