As his lead slips and we get closer and closer to election he will do more and more outrageous, illegal, corrupt, evil (let's use that word, for that's what we're seeing) things to hurt those who do not support him and especially those who speak out against him. I knew it would be bad, I knew he was unfit, and amoral and inconceivably self-centered -- but this? This is a flat out destruction of the law and the history of the nation to retain power.

I can see troops on the street to stop people voting, it’s a banana republic these days

There was US backing. They recruited them, equipped them, trained them, shipped them there. It went tits up when Kennedy refused to provide air cover for them. The game was up as far as any pretence that the US govt wasnt behind it that day.

Yeah but I think he means ‘officially’ as in ‘officially’. A bit like the Russians never officially fought against the US in Vietnam.

He has already said he is going to send federal troops to polling stations,no doubt dems only and to create a problem so they can shut the polling station down,it is incredible he can get away with this in america

There has been some reporting of this. The Trump campaign have been making huge digital media buys for a few months, ramping up significantly as of late, for obvious reasons. And a few data analysis watchdogs have said they have new data mining and analytics teams helping them to segment and target (at least one with ties to the now defunct Cambridge Analytica, and another most probably backed by Putin).

And this was just a small sample of reporting on the Trump campaign’s current data mining/analytics activities.

We need to remember that 2016 was undertaken from the outside, with generally only private assets and foreign government aid (and some in-office Republican assistance toward the end of the campaign). The Trump campaign now not only has these private data mining resources — and continued foreign government assistance — but also access to the vast US government domestic surveillance apparatus. And general control on the Census, which based on the current incomplete state (much of it due to Trump camp intervention, interference, and influence), will have huge ramifications for governance in the coming decade(s).

Their powers have been increased by several magnitudes for 2020 and potentially beyond.

This is where allowing an autocratic, desperate, compromised grifter to take office in the first place leads.
 
He's turning into a Shit Saddam.

He's got his shit versions of Uday and Qusay in the Whitehouse with him.

His mini me and incesteous daughter Ivanka learning from him (Ivanka 2028 anyone?).

The only way he's going to go is if the people follow the lead from Iraq and take him out themselves.

See above for my original post that contained this and other write ups about the Trump camp’s data mining/analytics operations — all of them are informative and frightening, but they are just the tip of the iceberg.
