Smells like a large pile of rhinoceros diarrhoea.
Doesn't look slow to me.Would be a strange signing for us as he's quite slow and has shone in Atletico's notoriously deep and organised defence. Then again, we were in for Maguire and he's not exactly quick either. I'd be surprised to see it happen.
He's not slow though, is he ?
Think a few people on here have said he is slow or at least not quick
Gimenez is a sick note
16/17 season- 10 games missed
17/18 season -7 games missed
18/19 season- 17 games missed
19/20 season - 19 games missed
Per transfermarkt
€90m+ fee is laughable
Gimenez is a world class defender, one of the leaders at Athletico, brilliant at 1v1 situation does not like to dive in. Stays on his feet, can pass out from the back and has a bit of pace, younger than koulibaly it's a win win for City. Athletico do need money quickly to balance finances next year for ffp Felix the money they payed is coming back to bite them. They though they would finish high up in the table with his addition but didn't and now need money to balance the books next year due to Covid. A lot of athleticos money comes from fans so their struggling with the current situation.
The big difference is that he defends the 18 yard line with Athletico. At City he’d be stood on the half way line. Big difference.

worth a watch
It’s a bit of a fallacy that you need pace at the back to defend well. We need pace because we push up so high, let the full backs join the attack and are hugely susceptible to a quick counter attack - with balls played in behind our back line.
Pep might be planning to defend a bit deeper with a couple of holding players to make us less kamikaze, tightening things up. We have a huge array of attacking talent so not sure we always need to be so open. Regardless of how we set up the back line the press needs to return to its intensity of two years ago. That’s where our problems started last year - we lost possession and allowed teams time to un pick us.

If the various Twitter feeds are to be believed (I know!) then we're offering €89m for Giminez but won't pay €70m for Koulibaly? All seems a bit unlikely to me.
