Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Albums

So who's in the top 5?

My Guess

Stone Roses Stone Roses
Oasis Definitely Maybe
Pink Floyd Dark side of the Moon
The Smiths The Queen is Dead
Verve Urban Hymns

Swap out Urban Hymns with Hunky Dory and you might be right. Which will show the age and geographical location of this forum!

To be expected really. It's all about personal choice!

Hunky Dory will be in there. I’m pretty sure any of the following won’t be, but how they’re not in the top 100 is beyond me.

Stevie Wonder - Songs In the key of life
Carole King - Tapestry
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are you experienced

Bloody hell, you don’t mess about do you! Getting Somewhere’s not her best unfortunately, but there’s some good stuff on Hardest Part. A lot of her songs are a lot slower and more country tinged than ‘Think It Over’. Here’s “Pardon Me” and “Let Go” for a more representative flavour....

I prefer the more uptempo stuff obviously but those are good, especially Let Go. Excellent voice.

I went for Getting Somewhere because Mr Earle produced it and it's short.

Bought both cds secondhand so it only needs a few good tracks to be worth it.

Here are mine that didn't make it:

1. Ariel, Kate Bush

3. Foxtrot, Genesis

9. Close to the Edge, Yes

14. For your Pleasure, Roxy Music
15. The Doors, The Doors
16. Jordan the Comeback, Prefab Sprout
17. Listen without prejudice, George Michael
18. The Original Soundtrack, 10cc
19. Every Picture tells a story, Rod Stewart and the Faces
20. Blue, Joni Mitchell

All fantastic albums that would have graced Bluemoons top 100. I still have high hopes that HD will make it which meant 10 of my top 20 were included.

All those would likely appear on a serious list of the greatest albums ever e.g. they are all in the Top 60 on Rolling Stone's Top 500 Albums of All Time.
