Wolves (A) Post-Match Thread

Having to give an interview to a prick asking stupid questions.
I don’t particularly remember the questions, they seemed like your standard, bland post match questions? What did he ask that was so bad? Pep seemed that way from the off, rather than as a reaction to a question?

So when can we moan about Mendy? I'd rather people moan after a win. I don't even come on here after a bad result because I already feel shit enough without all the moaning making it worse.
He dealt perfectly well against Traore up until the yellow card which was never a yellow in a million years. From then on it was always going to be difficult for him been one foul away from bring sent off. He was up against a incredibly fast and strong player on a yellow and didnt get much help from his team mates to get doubles up on Adama, It was constant 1 v 1.
To criticise Mendy tonight is really unfair he done really well tonight.

What exactly do you want from Mendy? Did you want him to match Adama stride for stride or do the moonwalk to keep up with him...

Anything but Mendy
Cancelo looked pretty decent in his last outings at LB and didn’t give the ball away unlike Mendy
You do realise that Len must have had an injury or something that prevented him from participating? That’s why he wasn’t even on the bench, so it’s pointless arguing what he might or might not have done.

Mendy did very well, considering he was up against one of the most dangerous players in the Premier League, who wreaked considerably more damage against us last season than he did tonight.

Maybe that was because Big Ben did his job, eh?

Have a think about it.

Traore would be unbelievable for us. It isn't hype anymore he is the real deal. Great win and best of all we were not totally match sharp! Exciting season ahead!

I thought he was OK too, maybe not brilliant, but I thought he had a decent game, I only said FFS Mendy about 3 times, and that is a good measure :)

He doesn't get enough credit, in my opinion. Even accounting for his limitations in attacking positions, he more than makes up for it in all other aspects. A bargain for c£50m
When you play at top level every mistake is scrutinised. Walker gets flack that is unnecessary a lot of the time. You know how good a player is when it comes to replacing them and we will see just how good he was when we have to!

Exactly. He had Traore in his ass pocket up until he was unfairly booked.
Too many people on here looking for a scapegoat as usual.
Mendy had a good game tonight.
Mendy had a good game in that he didn't get sent off. Wolves hardly had the ball to attack in the first half. He's still a brain fart from turning a win into a loss. Mendy reminds me of Micah Richards at the end of his time at city. I'm afraid the injuries have just crippled him...

Great first half. Poor second.
Liked the Square defensive formation.
But some problems remained.
- Mendy. Useless. Always on the wrong side of his opponent
- Wingers and KDB need to track back and get to the edge of the penalty are when an opposition wide player gets to the byline and pick up players arriving in the penalty area.
- if you play a more defensive formation, then we need to knock the ball down the channels more and NOT always pass it out to the flanks.

Asside from the penalty that a blind man could have given Marriner gave us nothing. Jesus and Foden got a right battering over 90 mins.

Great first half. Leggy second.

Overall better performance, and result, than I expected.
Yep. Liverpool were trash at times vs. Leeds. We looked more polished the first half but rust showed up 2nd half.
Mendy although he had an overall good game on a yellow vs. a pacy/ skilled winger towards the end of a game where we're nursing a one goal lead is a horror show. Cancelo not ideal but better... But if he's our number one LB our cover for Walker is shot.

He is an exceptional fullback, not only is he far better technically than people give him credit for but he’s athletically as good as any player of his generation. He literally will over power any player no matter who they are.. he is an absolute machine.

He’s top tier. And perfect for Peps system.

cant believe I spend so much time defending him to people. To me it’s obvious what he brings.

Spit on, in my opinion. If we had an equivalent player on the left in the last 4 years, we would have won even more trophies, in my opinion.
