Working from home again is good, really cuts down people on public transport etc

Where is the not mixing households ? Hancock was at pains to stress that is where the main spread is ?

Edit ,i forgot about the six but that is not the same
Yep. Meet people outside, stay away from people inside. It’s not difficult, is it?

Ok right we’re in agreement then, nothing they do makes sense!!
Nothing makes sense at an individual level, but it is more about reducing the exposure when you look at the bigger picture. Nothing is going to stop it but if the measures reduce the R number from say 1.1 to 0.9 it's worth doing. If all of the general public could be trusted to be sensible half these measures wouldn't need to be brought in. Unfortunately there are countless thickos that won't take any notice of advice, but some of them might not ignore enforceable rules, so we end up with what seem like bizarre rules for all.

What a complete waste of time shutting pubs at 10pm.
To all the fellow oldies, remember when pubs shut earlier years ago, did it make us drink less or did we go out earlier and then also have a mad rush at last orders?

Wow, just wow. Please don't tell me that you work in education as your posts seem to suggest. Firstly you think that parents can educate a child as well as a teacher who has been professionally trained to do this, then you pour scorn on parents that dare to work to provide for their kids. Shocking.
Plenty of parents home school their kids to uni level, the parents just have to be motivated ,most people cant be arsed

I'm grateful that hasn't been brought in widely, for selfish reasons, we have a 7 day holiday booked in a cottage in Somerset next Friday, and our daughter and boyfriend are coming to stay the weekend with us there, we haven't seen them both since Christmas (we did have a nice afternoon walk with our daughter in the summer), so we are really looking forward to it, obviously we'll be mindful of the situation, but we didn't want to cancel it. We both live in areas with relatively low case rates at the moment.

I get all that, there’s always plenty of selfish twats who’ll ignore the rules, my point is why 15 only at weddings compared to 30 at funerals?

Then all hit the chippy at the same time where it would kick-off without fail!

At least this puts to bed that it wont be worse in winter and there is no second wave , six months of restrictions that are likely to get tighter deep in winter

Hopefully boris is right and the nhs and care homes are ready

I tell you what is odd , in the main the people who attend funerals are a lot older than the vast majority of people who attend weddings so arguably it should be the other way round. Given the old are more vulnerable,

however none of it makes any sense whatsoever . They may have decided these rules by heads or tails .

in Manchester these changes make little difference as we are on local lockdown anyway .

whats changed you can’t be in a pub after 10 !!!

Earlier people werent able to be there when their loved ones died or go to the funeral, i think that really hurt everyone, it is a compassion thing i think
