This was always an expensive vanity project and if you read into it they wasted £500m buying a company that had gone bust and never developed a workable product. They also never consulted the MoD or the lead scientific advisor who now advises on the coronavirus. It's no surprise that this has been buried in the news pile.....

Whether we need to participate in Galileo too is probably the main argument. We've used the US system just fine for the last 50 years and all existing military hardware uses it.

The early shows featured BL cars - Rovers mostly though there was a memorable episode with the duo in a Marina estate with an antique desk strapped to a roof rack.

Anyway there was a big fall out as BL had no concept of continuity - one day they'd deliver a yellow Dolomite the next a blue one. I think they charged for them too.

The producers were getting pissed off with events and Ford got wind, stepped in and effectively "gave" them their press fleet for free because Ford twigged there were sales in getting your cars on this sort of show being driven hard by two CI5 operatives. Shouldn't really have been rocket science to BL should it?
