This is my first post in a while, I don't think Eric has been brilliant, but I also think he has held his own reasonably well after making the step up without actually standing out in the sense that Foden does quite often.
To me this thread just reeks of cognitive dissonance, although it is understandable given our defensive woes now coupled with the LCFC result
Sutely it would be those still 'blindly believing' in Garcia, contrary to all rational evidence, who were suffering from that ?
I've only seen it once but I recall Vardy at the near post and Garcia tracking behind him. Is it not just possible that Vardy outpaced him to the near post?
No that didn’t really happen. Garcia gave Vardy a 5 yard start thinking he was playing him offside. Obviously once the ball went wide offside didn’t come into it and Usain Bolt wouldn’t have been able to recover in time. So it wasn’t because he’s slow as fuck it was because he messed up in leaving Vardy in the first place.
Good luck with that. Just don’t get drawn vs anyone with any pace in the ECL. Because he can pass 5 yards fairly competently does not make him a top defender and I have not been impressed at all. Sunday merely confirmed what I thought. Naive and slow to react. Vardy had him on toast.
As I have said before, similar was said about Pique - that worked out just fine
He's not on track to be anywhere for another year unless you lot pay up.

I agree I always said that Pep made a mistake he should tried Harwood-Bellis .Garcia looks better suited to being a holding midfielder. His key skill is reading the game and passing. His weakness of height/leap and speed is always going to be exposed in our defence
There was a window for a young defender to come through Garcia had his change he failed and he want to go now after Diaz and Laporte coming back Harwood-Bellis change is gone big mistake Pep big mistake.

People think pace is everything, it's not. Baresi didn't have much pace, but his positional sense and his determination arguably made him the best defender the game has ever seen. Not saying Garcia has that, too early to tell, but he's rated by those in the game who understand those aspects, i trust them. He's perfect for La Liga, to develop his skills further, exactly like what happened with Pique who looked almost useless before then.As I have said before, similar was said about Pique - that worked out just fine

Possibly but could have been for leaving him initially. Very much doubt he could have made the ground back up. It’s great that our genius of a manager keeps starting him against the likes of Lyon, Augbameyang and Vardy though.

You watch from about 58 seconds. Garcia doesnt have a clue where Vardy is. He is caught trying to play offside and then is far too slow to react and once Vardy is in behind him he has no chance of getting across in time. It is very poor from him.

Not at all the profile of Rodri or 'dinho. Gundo, similar but I would say he's more of an attacking player than defensive minded - he can press well and contribute in attack so he has excelled in counter attacking sides like Celta Vigo & Inter on loan
