I think it was more Mahrez didn't pass to Foden. He could have put him clean through three times but took the selfish option and blasted it over the bar. Foden was clearly frustrated.I don't think we are at our full fitness yet, players tired too soon. Some players are not at the same wavelength, noticed Foden and Mahrez didn't pass each other a few times. I'm leaning towards Leeds being great than City being poor.
It is kinda a good point to win....if you look at it in isolation. But you got to think in the grand scheme of things, if you are content with a point against Leeds you are already conceding the PL title. We still gotta go to more difficult places. This season is tough as it is with the fixture congestion, but the teams have gotten way-way better in terms of quality. Liverpool are not looking like they will slow down any time soon, and they have added Thiago and Jota to that well oiled machine. Arteta has revamped that spine-less Arsenal side that we have faced for the last decade at least. Leicester have improved their squad and Brendan Rodgers has already got Pep's number tactics wise from the looks of it. Sheffield are stronger than any team that went down last season. Everton are flying high currently. Even Spurs and Chelsea have improved their squads with new signings. I'm not saying that we are going to lose against the whole lot but on paper this is at least a 2x harder league to win this season than the last one. I'm just not looking forward to it if I'm being honest.
Yes they are streets ahead.
Yes they are streets ahead.
Spot onLiverpool got a penalty for the ball bouncing off a player's leg onto his hand, we didn't get any penalties for 2 incidents that other teams would have got penalties for - that is the crucial difference
Key players are making errors for which you cannot blame the manager. So why do we keep making the same mistakes? Why do teams keep cutting us open? He is a fantastic manager but These things have a shelf life
We were only Agüero short of our full strength XI today.Wolves, Leicester, Leeds
Three good teams. Half our team out injured. Bad luck, bad decisions. Individual errors.
Full strength scousers only beat these with two pens, one of which was a joke. But they're miles ahead apparently.
Same in the CL fumbled one into the Lyon players feet, Southampton chipped like a mug. I think he's average simple as that.Ederson had the opportunity to catch the ball, It baffles me why he punched it and gifted them a goal
They don't really look like winning anything right now do they?
Fuck me Mr "RCB" is back....go on I suppose we could do with a new QB....In terms of quality Leeds created a lot more/better chances than us. Apart from Sterling’s goal and messed up chance we created nothing.
Never mind titles, 3 points would be nice! They don't really look like winning anything right now do they?
I hardly think we can blame the club management for COVID, the lack of rest and preseason and injuries personally. Our player need to take responisibility in times like this, as difficult as it is.
Teams develop in cycles.Core group of players(8-14) have a lifecycle of 6-8 years of prime performance and around them you build a team with squad players with half lifecycle of 3-4 years.Pep reached his peak with his team in dec2017-2018, we were the best team in europe. We need a small squad rebuild.Don't really give a fuck if I get lambasted on here tonight over this comment.
Pep time is up here, 15/16 months of watching this and it's not good enough, Why is he getting special treatment? Players get totally given down the glen on here but not Pep. First 20 mins we were good, Last 20 we were good, for 50 minutes of that game we were shit sitting off, We should of went in for the kill at 1-0 and we didnt. Leeds could of turned this game completely on it's head in the second half. Wolves could of turned the game around and Leicester scored 5. Mancini and Pellegrini got sacked for fucking less.
Enough about refs being biased ect That performance isn't good enough it's as simple as that.
Mendy was awful, got himself needlessly booked in the first half with a stupid trip and was target from 20 mins in. We are wasteful, I wanted to boot the telly when sterling went clean through and didn't shoot, but it works both ways Leeds had plenty chances too and we had Ederson making some vital saves.Mendy is a convenient whipping boy but we could get away with his ineptitude if we put away our chances. The biggest problem is not Mendy.
We didn't actually create many clear cut chances. We got into some great attacking situations but didn't know what to do when we got to the box. Apart from Sterling's one one one we didn't actually create many clear cut chances indeed Leeds probably had more clear-cut efforts on goal. Leeds could have played without a goalkeeper. No, it wasn't poor. Finishing should/could have been better but we created enough chances.
Ffs we are 3 games in man!Thank God he is or we might have been shit last year and bottom half this.
A genius indeed. Let's hope for more plucky draws against promoted teams:-)
