Liam Delap - Ipswich player 2024-25

Thought he done ok and very unlucky not to get his first goal at home.
He was always looking for the ball to come in to him and I was frustrated a couple of times when they kept passing it about instead of trying to put it on his head.
Gives us options and I think he’s going to be a special player.
 
The match against LC yesterday.
At 84 min, his shirt still intact. Somehow at 87 min his shirt got rip like this, but I don't see it show in the match.

Oliver need to give us a penalty, it must be some hard pull in order for his shirt to rip like this. Screenshot below.

It would help if our inverted wingers and overlapping FBs could put a decent cross in, Delap had one good cross to feed off which he headed against the bar, other than that our crossing was second rate.

I think Delap will be a great player for City and score loads of goals. He just needs coaching now to teach him about using space, timing his runs etc etc. He can learn from Sergio, the best in the business. It's a long time since we had such a physical presence or someone who can win headers.
 
Should have been picked today. I don’t give a fuck that he’s 17. He looks a million times more dangerous than Mahrez. Delap was what we needed today. Aguero or Jesus might be back after the international break, and I sadly can’t see him getting more games this season with a difficult draw in the carabao cup. Let’s hope we get an easy draw or two in the fa cup. He’s going to the very top but if we don’t give him chances, it won’t be for us

That was expected wasn't it!? We knew he would rather start anyone but Delap in PL. Yes Delap is young and not ready but he can play minutes. We are at risk of burning out our best players already in early part of the season.

he played really well against Bournemouth and right now we’ve got two wingers playing badly upfront.

looks like he won’t play again now and to me it makes no sense. Doesn’t matter that he’s 17

«But he’s not ready, he’s only 17». So much nonsense on this forum. He was bullying the Bournemouth defenders, there’s no doubt he’s physically ready for the PL, his age doesn’t matter. He’s a very clinical finisher with both feet and dangerous in the air. Playing Mahrez and Sterling as a false 9 instead of him is laughable
 
He deserves to start and Pep's probably seen enough of the other false 9 options to give him more prem minutes asap
 
Pep won't start him in anything other than league cup. Should be playing, but pep likes false 9s and players he trusts.

He barely got a sniff vs Leicester aside winning one aerial duel that could pass as a half chance. You cannot just field anyone over experience in squad.

He may have helped with holding up the ball yesterday. Mahrez et al. kept losing the ball when it was played to them yesterday. Mahrez also keep getting muscled off the ball.

Delap’s a unit and I believe he’d have been able to handle the CB’s.

There are some passes that could’ve been made by Kev or Torres if there was someone arriving in and around the penalty spot.
 
We've finally got a young center forward who might just break through to the first team, he needs minutes and he needs them now.
