Squeezing every pound? We got less than two million for a promising young English centre-back. Fair value would be closer to ten times that amount. You are trying to tell me that the club doesn’t care what it sells players for. Why then did we not sell Garcia? Why did we spend months haggling over centre-backs? Even if it were true, it would only prove that we were being run by morons. Expenditure is only one half of the equation.

The failure that I was talking about was with regards to our transfer activity. The logic is really very simple. Less cash in equals less cash available to reinvest. It really is astonishingly simple stuff. We don’t have access to a money printer. We have various streams of income, one of which is player sales.

Don’t ever go into business, it’s not for you.

Just because it’s on Twitter, doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Jack Gaughan, who is one of City’s most reliable journalists at the moment also confirmed the same.

It’s £2m with a sell on clause. If you want to go away believing City got more, go for it, but it isn’t the case.

Tosin had a total of 1 good spell in championship last season at Blackburn and he's already 23, in the final year of his contract. He did not want to renew, so off he went for peanuts. Not that complicated.

But ultimately, that is the value the club decided was appropriate, for a 23 year old senior player, who has not played any top level football to date, with a year left on contract and no planned involvement in our team. Who had no clubs offering for him on a permanent transfer. He was also loyal to the club and deserved a good move away, rather than another loan to a lower league.

In no way can that be compared to the garcia situation, nor are the two arguments relative.

A. different circumstances and models of business, and what's worked to make us a club with one of the biggest turnovers, profitable and the most succesful English club on the pithch over the last 10 years. Using some of the most sought after people in football.
B. We employ idiots and after 12 years the clubs very succesful owners haven't noticed or bothered, to change those working at the club , but we've winged it and got away with it.
