It is 10m (£) lower than we wanted, not 2. Half pricd deal, pisstake, and not worth it.

It was widely reported last night that we wanted €20m and would have accepted that in a €10 + €10m structure (Barca offered 10 + 7 or 8 depending on the journalist).

So no, it wasn’t £10m lower than what we wanted.

£20m up front, plus addons. the club have been consistent with this.

So yes. A difference if 10m.

My logic is based on us turning down an €18m offer from Barca because it was €2 lower than what we wanted.

It's petty and illogical given the circumstances.
If you're basing your nonsense on Twitter random numbers then I can show you the one where it's claimed Barca offered £/€5mill up front with £/€10mill in add-ons with unknown conditions. Would you accept that?

"No argument put

Then you're an idiot. As I've explained, repeatedly, if you accept that lowball offer then you get lowballed in EVERY transfer negotiation in future. Your ignorant, short sighted, stubborn approach would ruin the club in the long term. Then you'd be complaining about that.

The logic of your argument goes completely out of the window when the club accepts a £1.5m bid from a premier league club for an equally talented academy CB with more experience.

That's up to £8mill with a 20% sell-on for Tosin according to the MEN or are you choosing only the Twitter rumours that suit your agenda?

Edit: for clarity I quoted the MEN for the 20% sell-on fee, not the upto £8 million fee that lots of other outlets are claiming.

Squeezing every pound? We got less than two million for a promising young English centre-back. Fair value would be closer to ten times that amount. You are trying to tell me that the club doesn’t care what it sells players for. Why then did we not sell Garcia? Why did we spend months haggling over centre-backs? Even if it were true, it would only prove that we were being run by morons. Expenditure is only one half of the equation.

The failure that I was talking about was with regards to our transfer activity. The logic is really very simple. Less cash in equals less cash available to reinvest. It really is astonishingly simple stuff. We don’t have access to a money printer. We have various streams of income, one of which is player sales.

Don’t ever go into business, it’s not for you.
Maybe give Sheik a call, let him know he's got a bunch of idiots running the club, that's why we never win anything, he might give you the job.

It’s up to £2m, per the MEN journalist above and every other journalist that reported on the deal after it’s finalised.

You’re the one posting lies to suit your agenda.

@charlie9872 your getting your pants pulled down on this one

Yes, I’m getting my pants pulled down because someone who is posting factually untrue information.

It’s not £8m and it’s never been £8m - the only time it was rumoured at that price was on the morning of the Fulham rumours.

I mentioned the MEN for the 20% sell-on fee rather than the up to £8mill fee so my fault for not making that clear. That said:-

All claim up to £8mill.

I can't see where I claimed you were lying? Strange that you bring that up...

Posting a few links from the rags, two of which aren’t even from when the deal had been completed isn’t backing up your point.

Just because it’s on Twitter, doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Jack Gaughan, who is one of City’s most reliable journalists at the moment also confirmed the same.

It’s £2m with a sell on clause. If you want to go away believing City got more, go for it, but it isn’t the case.

Hes got more Championship starts than PL games. That speaks volumes.

So did Brewster, that didn’t stop Liverpool from getting £23m plus a 15% sell on clause for him.

So did Bowen, that didn’t stop West Ham paying £25m for him.

So did Watkins, that didn’t stop Villa paying £30m+ for him.

So did Bellingham, that didn’t stop Dortmund from paying £20m+ for him.

I could go on...

Good championship players come with a premium these days. An initial fee of £1.5m rising to £2m is a derisory deal no matter which way we try to swing it.

Tosin had a total of 1 good spell in championship last season at Blackburn and he's already 23, in the final year of his contract. He did not want to renew, so off he went for peanuts. Not that complicated.

I agree with you, we sold tosin for way too little. I would have liked to see us get more dor him.

But ultimately, that is the value the club decided was appropriate, for a 23 year old senior player, who has not played any top level football to date, with a year left on contract and no planned involvement in our team. Who had no clubs offering for him on a permanent transfer. He was also loyal to the club and deserved a good move away, rather than another loan to a lower league.

In no way can that be compared to the garcia situation, nor are the two arguments relative.

So why is that,
A. different circumstances and models of business, and what's worked to make us a club with one of the biggest turnovers, profitable and the most succesful English club on the pithch over the last 10 years. Using some of the most sought after people in football.
B. We employ idiots and after 12 years the clubs very succesful owners haven't noticed or bothered, to change those working at the club , but we've winged it and got away with it.

Take your time.

I bet you’ve barely even seen him play.

I`m not interested in what other players stats are.IMO he will not be playing in the PL for longer than this season.

Spot on Coat.

There you go. We haven't been that bad.

Garcia was a pure ego game. We could have got a LB but No good LB that fits city profile was available on the market. Now it's time for football and winning titles. We have a good squad and I believe in city and our team
