How does that prove they were in negotiations or that a deal was close? If you read on he says they were definitely interested, but never actually were in negotiations. City's media team can make a mistake since he was heavily linked.

He didnt say we were interested. He said they were interested in the media speculation. This is obviously a complete crock - no idea what we gain by this. We signed Ruben Dias. Koulibaly is of no relevance to City.
