The hospital news continues to be not so good.

England patients up 226 - one of the biggest recent daily rises to total 3451. It was 2329 a week ago.

Last time it was this high was on 17 June.

Ventilator patients up 5 in day to 401. England was 310 a week ago.

Last time there were over 400 in England on ventilators was 9 June.

Quite, im generalising: but then so was the poster who originally said it.

ive found the loudest ones who shout, “dont work, stay in, go on furlough, accept 66% of your wage and be happy with that” , dont actually work themselves so their income just isnt affected come what may
Who is sayig that ? Who is saying be happy with it ? nobody is fucking happy

Are they? Seen about 4 om the pavement in the last month on my travels through gorton, openshaw, Leve, bradford/beswick, ancoats, platting and town.

Maybe your area just is a bit common or disrespectful on this issue who knows, but bit hash to tar every place the same
Not seen any in my town

London patients up 24 to 338 (wk ago 272) ventilators up 5 to 57 (wk ago was 50)

Midlands patients up 50 to 576 (wk ago was 417) ventilators down 1 to 81 (wk ago was 62)

NE & Yorks patients up 67 to 914 (wk ago 572) ventilators up 2 to 99 (wk ago was 78_

The large increase in patients in the NE & Yorks in a week is obvious.

As for North West:

patients up 53 to 1218 (was 816 a week ago - so 50% rise in a week) 1 June was last time it was this high.

ventilators DOWN 1 to 132 (was 95 a week ago - so still a near 50% rise). 17 May was last time it was this high.

An awful lot of NW hospital deaths lately do not forget - 63 NW deaths reported in the last three days. Some of them will have been on ventilators so a small fall might be misleading.

Cant think of anything more worrying in this whole thing than any groups, of any sort, being organised to watch over others.

also, fining ‘everybody’ in premises? Nope

they're not watching over others, they're doing useful community jobs and in the meantime 2 separate things that should be being observed come together to curb this lack of personal responsibility and accountability in society.

People are taking it more seriously, in general. My brother lives down there and was shocked when I said I see people in shops every single day without masks. Up here it looks like hard looking men in sportswear and fat tattooed women have some sort of imunity.
Yes the south are always so much better behaved than the northern chavs ffs.

Maybe not though.

I have not seen one.

England has reached a tipping point similar to the first wave of coronavirus but is still in a position to stop history repeating itself, the country's deputy chief medical officer has said.

Professor Jonathan Van-Tam said the best way to keep transmission low and stop the NHS being overwhelmed was for people with symptoms to self-isolate and get a test, and for people to wash their hands, wear face coverings and maintain social distancing.

Exactly dunno what tolmie is seeing to cause such anger
I have seen quite a few but some are bespoke ones, football clubs etc so the person would have dropped the mask by accident. I lost a City one about a month when I was dropping off shopping doing volunteer work. I was a bit gutted

GM scoreboard is unfortunately up today so a higher percentage of the NW total.

Back up to 44% of the NW total sadly despite the falls in NW and UK cases today.

At 1533 - up from 1455 yesterday.

Bit of a mixed picture too. Some up some down. But not by a lot.

Only Manchester above 200 at 378. Only one below 100 - fourth different borough in past week to be in front - Tameside's turn today.

Beyond GM - Liverpool at 420 cases was top in UK today again. But not by much over Manchester.Bradford at 240 (down a little) was third ahead of Birmingham with 229.

Knowsley was again worst in terms of per population though - 169 cases leading to a pop score that went up a staggering 112 to 2451 - way ahead of the field there now. Leicester had a good day today and the Pop Score leader for months until last week is now behind many places (Manchester overtook it today) with a score of 'only' 2242.

Just reading these proposed new restrictions they can fuck right off. Shutting everything in an area classed as red zones including gyms, non professional sport, shops and salons. I hope to god people stand up to this somehow. I've been compliant from day 1 but they can do one now as far as I'm concerned. Absolute pricks.

GM scoreboard:

Manchester 378 - down from 394. Total cases 12, 625. Pop score up 69 to 2284. Passes Leicester today on this measure.

Wigan 179 - down from 196 but still easily second worst, Total cases 5252. Pop score up 54 to 1598.

Salford 167 - up from 126. Total cases 4628. Pop score up 64 to 1788.

Oldham 147 - up from 111. Total cases 5584. Pop score up 62 to 2355. Worst in GM and chasing Knowsley ahead.

Rochdale 129 - down from 132. Total cases 4737. Pop score up 58 to enter 2100 club at 2130.

Stockport 118 - up from 81. Total cases 3968. Pop score up 40 to 1352. Low enough to increase pop score lead as best in GM to 152.

Trafford 115 - up from 93. Total cases 3569. Pop score up 49 to enter the 1500 club at 1504. Fewer cases than Stockport but the lower population (50 K fewer than Stockport) is why a higher Pop score rise follows.

Bolton 109 - exactly same as yesterday and more evidence of progress here. Total cases 6186. Pop score up 38 to 2151 showing it seems to be doing well.

Bury 109 - up from 91. Total cases 3717. Pop score up 58 to 1946. Again same cases as Bolton but lower population means that pro rata it is a worse result than for Bolton hence the much bigger rise in Pop Score.

Tameside 82 - big drop from 122 to only sub 100 case borough today. Total cases 4082. Pop score up 36 but into the 1800 club at 1802. To compensate lowest pop score rise of the day.

I'll tell you what, the government would do well to impose a £500 fine for anybody who dumps their mask in the street - dirty, ignorant bastards.

What goes through some heads?

The pavements are absolutely littered with disposable masks.

I've seen some on the floor to be fair - saw one yesterday and one today - the one today was next to a bin outside Lidl - I'll give the dumper the benefit of the doubt and assume they missed the bin but didn't know. I hate it when dirty twats leave them in shopping trolley's and baskets - boils my fucking piss.

At the start of all this people were in the habit of wearing gloves and they got dumped wholesale round here - another bleeding annoyance.

Same here - I have obliged but they are just being daft now doing stuff for the sake of it.

Where my Mrs works in a Spar shop is under Redcar and Cleveland council. One side of them is a take away to the other side is a level crossing. Other side of that is another take away but that is in Middlesbrough Council area and as a result different rules apply.

So if Boro is a red zone and the takeaway gets shut ....hhmmmmm...wonder what the patrons will do....???

Boils the piss more when Covid friendly oddities put them on tables whist having their drink.
