Arsenal (H) Post match thread

Dias, Walker, Bernardo and Ederson were superb, Ake and sterling not far behind, the rest ranged from ok to good. Most pleasing for me was the last 20 minutes. bernardo and foden are by far the most intelligent pressers on the team and having them be the two most advanced players pretty much restricted any sort of build up play from arsenal. From then on it was just about the rest being disciplined, smart positionally and not giving any unnecessary fouls/pens away and barring a few fouls they were all superb. That second half was the most solid the team had looked for a while defensively and once laporte is back, a defence of walker, dias, laporte and ake once settled could be a very solid base to build from.

We got 1-0 up against a good team and then controlled the game and defended well. That's what everyone's been asking Pep to do against the better opponents for ages. In other seasons, we might have pushed harder for a second and conceded one. It looks like we're now in a situation where we can have one of Dias or Laporte out and still look solid at the back, which is great.

Contrary to the match day thread I think we played pretty well against a well drilled Arsenal team.
We were never going to batter them considering they started the league very well and we didn't.
Makes a nice change having a battling performance where we've defended well.
Both keepers making good saves, but Arsenal made more.
I'm happy with that, yeah we weren't our outstanding best but still a very good performance against a good team.

Good 3 points. Defensively big improvement.

great having Aguero & Bernie back.

concern not much creativity but will take a 1 nil every game

Very good win and brilliant to get a clean sheet. Arsenal have improved a lot under Arteta. We still look like a shadow of ourselves but slowly improving.

bernardo tireless in midfield and excellent at bringing it out. Dias looks like what we’ve been missing since vinny. Imperious header at the death.

Realised they need to let fans back in the ground so I can talk to those round me actually there and I don't need to go on the and the matchday thread to read all the arses giving their game analysis

- Arsenal's defending is impressive. I wonder if Arteta's departure had anything to do with our defense falling apart.
- Bernardo is all over the pitch (MoM)
- Gundogan and Rodri, unsurprisingly, are nowhere to be found
- Aguero with the juicy pass for the goal
- Dias is a leader
- Ake, Walker, and Cancelo were solid

Aguero should have been sent off, birched and banned for life for putting his arm round the lineswoman.
A certain penalty against walker, why oh why didn't var Check..why??
Aside from those observations from the comedy duo Tyler and Gaz, we played well against a good side.
Bernie, Ruben and Kyle outstanding

You are taking the piss you did nothing but fucking moan

Reminded me of the title winning season when KDB was injured and Bernardo bossed the midfield, he looks back to his best, I love him in that central role. Diaz looks immense, Ake solid, and Walker superb. Aguero will benefit greatly from the game time and seemed to come through it unscathed. Lots of injuries and a good win against a decent side, so all in all a good day all round.
