Last season when Laporte and Sane had similar injuries we got the sum total sympathy from the football world of fuck all. Suddenly they have one bad injury and they want the world to light candles for them and sing kumbaya. All teams get injury’s, but like with most things they make out that it’s more important for them.
It means more allegedly

I know, wankers who post shit like that would probably piss their pants if they came face to face with him....
Pickford is a professional footballer who throws himself at the ground and gets kicked a lot for a living. Goalkeeping is not a job for people (like me) who have a low tolerance to pain. He also got in a fight last year, I believe.

You lot lost Laporte and it buggered up your season and I don't recall City fans wailing and gnashing their teeth as much as kopites are about VVD. Everton have had some horrific injuries in our time too. We had one last season.

Doesn't that only apply if it is completely snapped?
I thought there was grades of tear etc.
So a small tear would only require surgery to support it during a quicker recovery.
They only do surgery for complete tears, and we know he's having surgery.

No such thing as a small tear with the ACL.
If it tears it’s surgery.
In exceptional cases players I have seen players return in 6 months but 9 is the norm (as for Leroy Sane).

Since you lot have the best team and were already favorites, you’ll clearly walk the league and I’m sure many of you will agree and expect that’s the likely outcome.

According to you all were *only* good in 19 because of VAR and last season because we had zero injuries (Alisson and Fabinho and Gomez are starters that were out for long spells but they don’t count, so never mind that.)

I don't understand why so many non-LFC fans, including a number of Blues on Twitter being upset with those mocking Van Dijk's injury. While several others are posting 'get well soon' messages. Like this from one of the very small number of City accounts I dislike (I only ever come across their messages when others retweet):

Why do people do this? Is it because they think it protects us from some hex or voodoo?

He's hurt his bloody knee. Not suffered ill health, lost someone important or is now unable to support his family. I could understand it if it was a player from the team you support or a player who has had bad luck and deserves a break. Some people are desperate to be loved, just as some enjoy being offended.

And Fabinho having to vacate midfield to drop in.

That will hurt their midfield just as much.
That’s true. I’d have preferred him to stay as the defensive midfielder, I think Thiago moves there.

Thiago becomes key now we absolutely need him to stay reasonably healthy without VVD as we will need to score more goals now.

We are still two deep in midfield—Wijnsldum, Milner and Jones are our backup midfielders and I suppose Ox when he’s available.

we wil need to buy a CB in January though, Matip is hurt half the time.

But Thiago becomes key now.

Gomez and Matic........doesn't terrify me tbh

the are ok. Solid enough but not world beaters, we will probably need to convert more chances and win 4-3, 3-1 more than 1/2-0s.

can Salah, Mane, Jota, + midfielders chip in with a decent amount of goals? Obviously I hope so but who knows, maybe that attack isn’t good enough.

With the greatest of respect, do fuck off, you condescending twat.

VD is a huge loss but i reckon it will be nearer 2 months out than 8. They are hurting at the moment and it's lovely to watch. Sometimes VAR goes for you and sometimes against you.The decision against Mane was marginal, even without VAR it may not have been given.
it will take more than their inhalers to cure an ACL in 2 months

I think your squad was recently named as the most valuable in Europe, so presumably you’re still favourites. One injury shouldn’t change that.

:)

Let’s see. A bit of a strange season so far—with Spurs result today all the “top six” have had some not very good results. But seriously, many of you have suggested we never get injuries. So we get to see how we handle it. Obviously it weakens us but I’d like to hope we are better able to cope than we were three years ago.

Where did you see the “most valuable” thing?

Would we have all this bullshit if it had happened to Lucas Digne?
