How could Corbyn be full on pro-Brexit if his troops didn't want that? And Momentum ended up controlling many CLPs and some regional offices.

Part of the problem - as I see it - is that there has been a narrative that Remainers have sought to establish - that people were not bothered about EU membership before 2016 etc.

The reality - and this is clearly commonsense - is that it was the Remain voters that did not understand the issues of EU membership and therefore contentedly voted for the status quo. Whereas those that did understand were generally actively against EU membership. There were a lot of people that understood the issues for a long time - 30 years in my case.

This claim of Brexit being a RWNJ thing is an attempted fallacy - not that many years ago Labour was the party against EU membership and the Tories were in support of it and its development beyond a trading bloc.

So you're saying that the 48% who voted Remain were ignorant (thick)? I think you also tried to say FoM was a racist policy as most Europeans are white, so I guess that makes Remainers the thick racists.

(And the claim that Remainers said Leavers were all "thick racists" has been the biggest word twisting on this whole thread.)

Positive movement on the Joint Committee for implementation of the NI protocols including a proposed solution to the permanent EU office in Belfast. No office, but permanent staff on site.



‘The EU is seeking to have some 15 customs + veterinary staff working alongside UK officials at NI ports to ensure the proper implementation of the NI Protocol, RTE news understands. In return the EU would drop an earlier request to have a physical office in Belfast.’
 
Gove is giving it his all today. I think we are on the brink of declaring ‘victory’.

An interesting question. Harold Wilson faced with a similar problem in 75 decided to stop the issue becoming toxic by allowing open debate - Tony Benn (leave) and Roy Jenkins (Remain) engaged in a long dimbleby chaired debate debate. Still on youtube if you fancy watching. Well worth watching as both sides are articulated much more intelligently than we have seen in the last five years.

On holiday at the moment and not seen much news.
Are we at the brink of a complete climb down and declaration of victory by the government as anticipated by many on here?

Not at all, if you want to carry on wishing for what won’t be happening, it’s not up to me to hinder that. Carry on, it’s a free country.

It will be exactly the same as the WA.

Worse than our existing arrangement, but heralded as a triumph by leavers who are incapable of detailing what a good deal would look like. They will then promptly rubbish the deal and blame remoaners and the EU for having put us in a position that has no material benefit.
