I can't help think this country would be in a much better place if Burnham would have won the 2015 leadership contest. Hopefully he'll get another crack at the job.
Ha, yeah it was years in the making.Bless you have been working on that for quite a while.

It’s not.I don't think it's fake, but it was quickly pulled...
Wasn’t quite up there with Martial’s own goal, but it was a close second.Made your night though so not all was lost.
To be fair anybody but Jezzer would have been an improvement...I can't help think this country would be in a much better place if Burnham would have won the 2015 leadership contest. Hopefully he'll get another crack at the job.

How was he expected to get a fair concession, just give in to a government who have been shafting Manchester for over a decade?Im not ranting for a start, just offering up my opinion. I agree with Burnham re the money needed but disagree in the way he has sought to get it. I dont agree the risk for Burnham was low at all and neither do SAGE or the medical professionals dealing with it in Greater Manchester.

Just checked if this was genuine. It’s just been taken down I presume on Supreme Leader Cummings orders.
It was real - it was tweeted by the chair of the society and then deleted by someone else who had access. Well, that is what the chair has said and he is not backing down on Twitter claiming that Boris is a charlatan.I don't think it's fake, but it was quickly pulled...
Essentially, this was purely a negotiation around how much the tories were willing to pay in order to get local support for going into tier 3. It was never needed in order for the government to implement something. Burnham needs to keep hammering that point. That they were willing to give 60m if there was local support vs 22m without shows it was never about what it should have been - which is what they think is actually required for people to live through the lockdown.
It would still be tough times for a lot of people even with 60m of additional support. It’s going to be even tougher and even shitter with 22m. Meanwhile, only last week they gave a 100m contract to a company only set up in May by a Tory donor to provide PPE...
Do not let them change the narrative on this. This was the tories choice and no one else’s.
I would suggest that the time of need is now and that the ‘Welfare System’ is not up to requirement. I know, my son has been made redundant to save the firm yet, 8 weeks later, he still has nothing to support his wife and 2 young kids.I dont have to speak to any fucker.
We have a welfare system for those in time of need. If someone wants to say its benefits then they are wrong.

At least they are savvy and have their house deposit money to fall back on, and somebody beyond that, but what about those who haven’t been so prudent, or not had the chance, where do they turn.
No need to answer, the above wasn’t really aimed at you, just a statement of how those in the North, not just Manchester, are suffering from the lack of investment in the area.
In much the same way Merseyside and Lancashire got theirs and once they got it, Greater Manchester and any other region would always get.
He gambled on getting everything he asked for and it didn't work out for him but as i keep saying, he has left himself open and the questions have already started to what will he do and how will he feel if the death rates sadly rise in the next few weeks and will he hold himself accountable.
This government will pin everything they can on him refusing to enter tier 3 from here on. That isn't my opinion, its a fact. I genuinely feel that at the start of this he held all the cards and should have played them a bit smarter knowing exactly what/who he was up against.
