TV Series

Well I just watched Star Trek Discovery series 3 episode 1.

Oh dear, it’s morphed into Star Wars.

Not really imho, though people are making the comparisons, it is very much still rodenberry and is using his premis for andromeda.

One of the ideas Roddenberry had for a new Star Trek series was conceived as a Federation ship that is stuck in the time dilation of a black hole and pulled out hundreds of years later to find the Federation has fallen and the galaxy is in chaos. The ship in question then decides they will restore the Federation and give hope to the galaxy it was originally called Star Trek : Pheonix Rising but adapted into andromeda.

He abandoned it as an idea because he didn't want trek to loose its utopian feel and instead wrote Genesis II and Plalnet earth with a more earth centric plot but the same idea.

I feel discovery is trying to do what was originally intended

I have to admit that despite being Italian I've never seen it; the fact that I'd have to watch it with subtitles puts me a bit off. Besides, knowing my personal taste I don't think I'd enjoy the show a lot.
Btw when you have finished that I recommend the tv series Suburra on Netflix which is set in Rome and deals with organised crime as well. It's a bit different in style but it's also well done.

Neapolitan dialect, not Italian. I'm Italian and I'd have to watch it with subtitles lol
Nice one ill have a a look for suburra

Another 2 episodes of "Unsolved Mysteries" have been added to Netflix. Thought the original series was ok with obvious suspects but no evidence.

I watched the 1st new episode which covered the death of Jack Wheeler (a former US govt aide) who was found dead on a landfill site.

His death is no doubt tragic but I think he just had a funny turn/episode and went to sleep in the dumpster. The bloke couldn't find his car for a whole night and ended up walking around the basement for hours. Whilst he was found with bruising suggesting he was attacked, it may have happened before he collapsed in the dumpster.

Anyone given Home (the UK comedy series on all4 rather than the US animation) a go yet?

Really good.

Finally got around to watching Hunters on Amazon Prime. Gave it a fair crack (3 episodes). Big bag of shite. Cross between Schindler’s List and Kill Bill. Maybe I’m getting old, but giving the hunt for Nazis hiding in 1970’s America the Tarantino treatment just felt wrong to me. Shite acting, shite casting, shite script

True story you know.

Couldn’t have put it better.

Unsolved mysteries is back with 6 more episodes, all available on Netflix now.

Watched the Olso one last night. Apparently there were several big facts omitted, like a second shot that went through the pillow and matress.

Don't think they've yet solved any of the mysteries from the rebooted series? But I know the original series did some good in that respect.

Just watched the first 25 minutes of the pilot for Season 1 of The Blacklist.

I haven’t seen anything this bad for a long time. The story just seemed to me to be utterly contrived and ridiculous. Does this series get any better?

Worst first episode of anything I've ever seen. Didn't bother with rest of it. Life is too short.

I've got one episode left of Gomorrah tonight.

Going to enjoy it with a glass of vino and a garlic bread to get in the mood. Ran out of coke and bullets.

Best series I've ever seen
It is brilliant, though the Immortal movie was a bit shit.
