Return of Supporters

A salary cap will only help those clubs that have bigger capacities The likes of Chelsea and Crystal Palace will suffer due to their smaller grounds.

It may get more popular, but when and if things return to normality a vast majority of the population will be considerably poorer and funds low.

Football will have to have a reality check.

As you said post war football was booming but admission prices were incredibly low, maybe high time the clubs reduce ticket prices considerably.

Certainly in the top flight they could do this. Matchday revenue is no longer the greatest earner for these clubs, for most it's 3rd behind TV and commercial. Hospitality is included in matchday revenue which I cant see being affected as the rich will still get richer. If all ticket prices were dropped to 25 quid for example the clubs wouldn't be sacrificing that much in the scheme of things and would guarantee stadiums are full.

Top flight football is not affordable anymore. Stop making excuses for the club. Remember when Arsenal away was £62? I lived in London and refused to pay it despite having no travel costs.

Away ticket are already capped at £30.

Wonder what City are up to....

The issue is not seating in the stadium but entrances/exits and space on the concourses. We're much better off than United in that latter respect. Had United not made changes, I believe their capacity would have been lower, pro-rata than ours.

Away fans maybe capped at £30. It stilled doesn't stop clubs from fleecing the home fans. It's time the home fans prices were also capped at the £30 as well.

What do you guys think.
There are some clubs - Arsenal, Spurs, United mainly - where matchday income makes up a significant part of their revenue stream. So they'll never agree to that.

Prestwich Blue, then the government should do something about this. Tell the Premier League, you either bring in a £30 maximum seat cost for the home fans. You will have until Easter of next year to sort. If this is not sorted, we the government will bring legislation to force you to do it.

This ain’t happening for months now. Might as well get used to it. This season is a write off pretty much. What is going to change in the next 4/5 months?

With France going into lockdown this will have to start affecting football sooner or later, their league may get suspended? CL games cancelled or will it all carry on for the morale of the country like it was here !

I'm not a great fan of the government getting involved in football in that way.

While we're at it, let schoolchildren have free meals and drinks (non alcoholic, of course). Proper nutritional meals - not junk food like pies or burgers. Perhaps Jamie Oliver could give some advice.

;-)

With the loss to clubs this year I think if prices go anywhere, they will be upwards. They are going to want to recoup some of these losses and as they don’t live in the real world in general, it wouldn’t surprise me if this is the way they do it.

If they are vaccinating from before Christmas for NHS staff there will be fans in the ground from April I reckon

wouldn’t be suprised to be it full for last few games of the season

don’t be surprised if theres no beer or food served and masks worn though
