Can a T Cell expert comment on the University of Birmingham study. It looks pretty hopeful that everyone they tested still had T Cell protection six months after Covid infection.

Are any vaccines being developed that target boosting T Cell response?
Thought the Oxford one was.

What's the take on a potential large number of people having had this asymptomatically and having an anti-body test (which of course may not take memory cells into account)?
Potentially could be a big portion of society that have either had positive tests (and you'd hope some form of immunity) AND having had it but asymptomatic.
I think everyone is scrambling to find answers/solutions now. Earlier on it was 'the virus is weakening' and seeing places open back up and having low cases over the summer helped that response.

Well I can tell you of three people who all had it and would have never known and never would have been known about but for the fact one worked in a care home and was tested weekly. Non had symptoms commonly associated with Covid, the eldest my mum was ill but no obvious covid symptoms and were it not for her positive test would be telling you that her flu jab knocked her off her feet for a couple of weeks! The just felt tired and weak and sick.

I have no doubt at all far more people have had this than is known or even widely aknowledged by the scientists and medical gurus at this moment in time.

Whether enough to start limiting the numbers of new infections taking the assumption there is some immunity for a so far to be established time afterwards, is a question no doubt some will be searching for a definitive answer.

You're absolutely certain that you know better than experts who have spent their lives studying infectious diseases?

Your self confidence is admirable!

i did ring, he said see how you feel in a bit, i decided to go to work

I should of but I was a bit stressed about work and all the redundancy, I wanted to show that i wasn't taking the piss because it was pissing down, stupid I know, but that's the threat at the moment
Guy in our work did exactly the same as you, he is now up from gross misconduct and will probably lose his job.

Our Medical and Scientific leaders are saying up to 100k are catching the virus each day.

Vitamins C and D along with zinc, are key players in boosting white blood cells which go on to form T cells, the so called ‘innate response’ which is then followed by an antibody response, made up of B cells, if needed. This may go some way to explaining different responses to the virus in people of different ethnic backgrounds, poor diet and people who spend most of their time inside (a care home, for example).
It really wouldn’t be surprising if this T-cell response is why the virus is much less harmful to the young, who spend time outdoors and have stronger innate responses anyway, just by dint of being young. It would of course mean that the B cells wouldn’t be called into action and antibodies would not need to be produced, hence possible much higher rates of infection than previously thought.

Last tuesday I was looking at buying a rowing machine, the model I decided on was £189.99 but didn't buy it that day, on saturday I had to bite the bullet and pay £219.99 and now today its at £239.99. Not everyone is suffering through the lockdown it seems!

Has your employer/do employers in general not ask to see test results?
Yes we had to send our results over to our employer. We all knew we were negative due to our WhatsApp group. When back at work we found out that one person hadnt been tested. We dont know how this happened and he was allowed to turn up for work. My instructions were clear dont come back until you have a negative result

Agree. I bought a large bag of compost in the spring (online). Finished it off and was looking to buy the same for a few spring bulbs. Now double the price.

Never made such a claim, that is my opinion based on my own observations nothing more. It maybe those experts that you seem to think I claim to be superior too are coming to the same conclusions but are not yet in a position to risk their careers by making such statements yet. On the other hand I can make such a claim because it doesnt matter if it turns out that i am talking out of my arse. I am simply a football fan on a forum who risks nothing more than provoking a pointless post from some busy tit.

i think lots more have had it - i agree. Must be over 20% in Manchester now? has to be. That means the R must eventually starts to come down naturally in our region.

Sure you did

Nope I cannot see anywhere I claimed to know more than experts or anyone else? I currently have strong confidence that my current opinion is accurate which is my business, might be way wide of the mark if i am I will be happy to admit it. Thats if it were to be so important to someone of course.

Do you have a problem with people having or expressing opinions?

You need to produce loads of completely false and unreadable graphs and make doomsday predictions, none of which have yet to actually been proven to be correct, to be recognised as a ‘scientist’. Then you must accept that there is but a single, inalienable truth to science and just go along with whatever you’re told, or you’ll be patted on the head and called ’a denier’, thick or some other such pleasantry just for having the temerity to go on to a football discussion forum and suggest anything slightly different. As for thinking for yourself or having a different view? Well, that’s strictly a no as well......

Wales data:

3 Deaths

1646 cases (new record)

But a big caveat here. This includes loads of tests that 'went missing' (not like that ever happens much) over the weekend and so is artificially high just as yesterday's 819 cases was artificially low.

Either way 2465 cases in 2 days is not great news for Wales well into a circuit breaker.

I've seen on twitter there are queues for tesco at Handforth Dean and other places.

Do people realise than supermarkets will remain open during the lockdown? Tossers.

It is due to the other pandemic that we have been suffering for a decade or two now, thick selfish **** fever.
