well my parents had it and I was around them during that period so it’s likely I had it and for me it wasn’t a big deal. The term collective effort I agree with, we have to collectively find away to help others whilst carrying on. I read somewhere ( correct me if I am wrong ) the average age of mortality is above the National life expectancy?! There is a lot of hysteria out there, the media doesn’t help. My sister has mental health issues and yesterday had a cough. She tried to call my mum at 2am who had her phone off. This morning she went nuts because what if she died over covid! Just a small example of what this is doing to people
It is tough but you cant outrun a pandemic , harsh as it sounds but you just have to go with it , stick to the rules and be mindful that you might not suffer with it but others are

With respect, that is an example of only what this is doing to your sister

Ive been saying the same for weeks and SAGE and the govt clearly haven’t stepped foot in one to see how they’re being run.
You only have to look at the physical state of the characters making the decisions to see they have never even stepped in a gym,let alone know what measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the membership.

They are fucking clueless.

Come off it mate, we are talking 4 weeks of not going to the bloody gym. It's hardly 15 years in a Siberian labour camp is it.

Honestly, people need to just get a bloody grip. I have every sympathy with gym (and other business) owners, and hope they can make it through this. Individuals who can't go to the gym for 4 week? Boo fucking hoo. Stop whinging and suck it up, like the rest of us have had to suck this up for the past 8 months.
Another one with no idea of what lack of exercise for some people will do to them. If I can get on a bus, tram or train, if I can go to the supermarket, if I can still go to work (if I can find a job) and sit with people at desks or work stations then I should be able to use the fucking gym or swimming baths. If kids can still go to school they should be allowed to play football at weekend. Either we lockdown or we don’t. So without being too rude you can stick your Boo Fucking Hoo up your arse. It’s a joke by this government who have no fucking idea what they’re doing.

Hopefully the stopping of mixing in houses (which did need to happen) is what will actually bring the numbers down. As it was that and schools that are creating this problem.

But people will lump that together with closing gyms and coffee shops and say “look gyms and coffee shops being closed made the numbers come down”.
Doesn’t really work for schools though mate. They can separate siblings in different years whilst in school, but they’ll still mingle at home.

I know of one instance last week where one sibling was told to stay at home as their year group had a positive case whilst their sibling was told to attend school... lol.

If the sibling at home does indeed have it, then the sibling attending will have passed it onto their fellow pupils in their ‘year bubble’!

The system does not work. Close the fuckers down.

yep; because I’m interested in the end result. It’s a virus of course it spreads and to be honest it needs to, but most people brush it off. How long will limits be placed on people who won’t be affected? Does this go on forever? It’s a valid question, why aren’t we isolating people at risk, instead of everyone again?

I am to much of a gentleman to say f..king idiot. My wife and I are in the 65+ bracket, those most at risk. Are you suggesting that we stay at home and isolate?? How long for? 1 month? 2 months. 6? Can’t see the grandkids?? Shopping? Going out for a meal? I will do it if you will. Can’t believe that some people keep trotting out this shite. It is not us that are passing it around.

The vice-chairman of the 1922 Committee of Tory backbench MPs explained: "I will not be supporting the Government legislation on Wednesday because as we drift further into an authoritarian, coercive state, the only legal mechanism left open to me is to vote against that legislation."

Conservatives getting a vocal in-party opposition now, however i believe most will back the legislation

No it’s mainly the kids who are back in school and colleges, yet they’re still staying open!!

Hope

Hopefully many more do and we have a proper discussion and the figures SAGE are refusing to reveal can be seen. The fact they used week old figures on Saturday was a joke!!

Exactly and how do you define risk groups? 3 months ago they were saying obesity was a factor and 30% of the country is classed as obese in which case we may as well go into lockdown anyway because there'll be no-one left.

The only people that this doesn't really affect in any way is most under 25's but then they are the group spreading it to older age groups making it far worse.

Why don't we lock up the under 25's so that the rest of us can go about our normal business which doesn't include going to illegal raves, COVID parties or ignoring social distancing on the lash etc?

Hard not to be suspicious of today's data as it is extraordinarily good all round.

Regionally:

London 1739 - down from 2056 - but tops the 100,000 cases today at 101, 225.

Midlands 1726 - way down from 3254 to lowest numbers in 3 weeks.

North East 1039 - down from 1176 but little change as they have been 1000/1100 for some time.

Yorkshire 2906 - down from 3800 to lowest in about a week.

And North West - 3246 - down from 4045 - third straight fall from totals over 5000 last week and lowest in the region for 4 weeks.

The data today is very odd.

The researchers say that while this study is encouraging and implies people have come cellular immunity to the virus, it does not mean people can not contract Covid-19 twice.

'It does not mean you can not get re-infected...' Professor Moss says.

'This can not be taken as confirmation of an immunity passport. Absolutely can not do that.'

They are not in a position to tell us much more at the moment as they only have data for 6 months.

It's a genuinely positive piece of news that gives hope to people. There are people with mental health due to the pandemic. I would think a number of them are suffering (maybe people who read this thread) because all they hear is bad news and think this will go on forever. If every piece of good news has to have caveats attached, then maybe all the bad news should too and subject to the same level of scrutiny.

GM total is equally odd as everywhere is down, some quite a lot. One borough even was sub 100 (no doubt you will guess who - but first time we have seen one of those numbers in two or three week). Manchester also down to its lowest number in nearly a month.

The GM total is also the lowest since tier 3 in fact the lowest in nearly 3 weeks. At 1560 - 645 lower than yesterday.

Taking the GM % back down under 50% to 48%.

Not where it was 2/3 weeks ago as Merseyside was way down too today. But the smallest % of the NW in a week or so.

Sorry Blue, not sure what this means.

It's very difficult to draw comparison with our current lock-down regulations and I speak here only as a layman and not a scientist. Where is the logic persay banning golf that's played out on expansive areas of open ground and yet allowing outdoor running. I am not anti running as I currently walk a lamppost and then wobble one to increase my cardio intensity, thrice weekly. When I do this I tend to puff, blow and spit a little more than when I simply walk. Not trying to pick holes with our governments advice but just trying to get onboard with it's logic. Eating out for Dishy Rishy whilst commendable for the economy was never good in practice for our bods, as this dreadful virus takes no prisoners when it comes down to fat-lads. So why not adopt the more sensible approach of encouraging all outdoor exercise and non contact sports to continue, placing emphasis on getting us all fit as a nation. As a final addendum I am also non too keen on colleges and secondary schools continuing to function for the duration as it just seems counter productive to the objective, others however may think otherwise.

It is almost like the scientists are doing it for shits and giggles
