That's what I'm wondering, I see pub industry leaders trotting out these figures and as much as I would love to believe them because I love the pub, I just don't. Same with the gyms, indoors, hardly any cleaning or distancing and yet low figures.

Hardly any cleaning? I’d suggest you change the establishment you frequent sir.

Any more info on top of that? Are full or partial lockdowns to be expected for years? Until we get a vaccine?

The vaccine(s) will be rolled out by the Spring and be a partial solution.

Most people who aren’t reckless will get through this OK.

I don’t know why Wee Jimmy Krankie escapes criticism on here for manipulating the figures. The SNP / Scottish Government have made a number of changes to how they count the figures.

So have we tbf , nothing worse than dumping 5,000 off the death numbers with no proof as to why each of them were taken off and the ridiculous 28 day cut off when people were on ventilators much longer , when it comes to the end they can say we didnt do worse than every other country , same with the 100,000 tests con

I have referred a few times to the problems this creates.

One I have not mentioned lately since they did it and it created a problem week to week is the hospital patient data. Now more vital than ever. When they altered this three months or so ago hundreds in hospital one day became 40 odd the next. Making past comparisons hard if not impossible.

The other day Nicola Sturgeon was asked if patients were closing in on those based on the peak of the first wave. Ad she referred back and said no. But if 200 or so becomes 45 overnight what difference does that make to the numbers in hospital now on the new system versus the number it would have been on the old?

There has to be some. Possibly enough to already be above it. This is currently an important thing to know. Have they readjusted the historic data so they are equivalent? Hopefully.

I presume that will be down to the country you are travelling to. I'd also presume if vaccines are restricted to certain groups and you need one for travel, you'd need to buy it.

It’s a bit like when I moved to Leeds to study and people told me that they had walked through Moss Side without getting mugged. Most people will be fine but a lot of others won’t be. It will make sense for people to get the virus when they can starting with frontline health and social care workers and the elderly.

To solve the care home visitor problem the German government are giving up to 20 free antigen tests per resident per month so that visitors can come to see them in safety.

Looks like care homes are the major source of outbreaks over last month, with a significant increase in the last week. Ring of steel seems to be made of plastic. Meanwhile, 3 ’incidents‘ in food outlet/restaurant settings in the last month, in a massive geographical area and 6 million people, and they’re shutting them all down, putting many out of business. It all looks a bit confused on the face of it...

4462 in total. There have been about 300,000 cases in the last four weeks. Where have the other 295,000 come from or don’t they have a clue ?

Thats actually a huge milestone for me. I hate the dark nights. I instantly feel better knowing its getting lighter each night.
