Depressing isn't it. Though Biden could effectively govern by exec order like Trump has been doing.

There's only so much of that you can do as President. Any trans-formative agenda, regarding the economy, climate change, taxation etc, they're all out the window unless Biden is willing to take these issues out on the stump non-stop. Effectively keep on campaigning for the next four years, bang heads in the Senate, get down and dirty, and sadly I don't think Joe Biden has it in him.

There is so much damage to be undone that Biden could spend his first 2 years without the senate and do a perfectly good job. Then win in 2022 and start cooking on gas.

The clown mentioning executive orders doesn't realise Biden's intention is to 'reach across the aisle'. he'll compromise the fuck out of everything to get something.

That's how little he knows about the 'amazing' DNC candidate.

You're right, it is depressing.
You have to remember that there are actually some non-terrible Republicans like Romney who would vote for a bill if it was good enough. Plus a few who are desperate to be rid of Trump and this whole charade, so might well be tempted to ignore the party if the party is sinking in order to be seen as not party to the nonsense that's been going on. Wishful thinking I know, but the Republican party is hanging by a thread

Is it coincidental that at this stage we're only left with mainly the states that could go either way?

Good point, Trump scares a great many number of GoP senators, if he's not in the WH then some may grow a back bone and actually work in favour of the people.

The eventual winner needs 270 Electoral College votes to win. Biden has 238 currently and appears to be ahead in Wisconsin and Nevada. That would give him 16 further votes if he holds on, putting him on 254. From there he just needs any one of Michigan (16), Pennsylvania (20) or Georgia (16) to win the additional votes he needs.

He should be favourite in Michigan, Georgia is counting the remaining votes and is still too close to call although the odds seem to slightly favour Biden, which is slightly surprising as Trump was expected to win there. Pennsylvania will be tight but if he does win Nevada & Wisconsin, plus Michigan, it won't matter.
Pennsylvania could go on for the rest of the week.
They accept mail in votes postmarked on the 2nd of November.
They could still be arriving.

The inconsistency in voting regulations is crazy.

I'm sure there are a ton of them that are horrified by his COVID response in particular, but know they can't go against him until they are sure he's not coming back

Think that through mate. They only way "we are left with states that could go either way" is because the ones that aren't going to go either way have already been called.

The Senate is not going to agree any economic stimulus that will make the Democrats look good. Republicans know how to say no, they said no to Obama's modest next to nothings for eight years!

They'll fuck Biden over at every turn and place the blame firmly on the White House.

LOL!

Romney will be outcast if he constantly goes against the GOP leadership, who is McConnell, who has retained his seat.

He won't chance that too much.
