The Conservative Party

We have never been and nor will we be going into a lockdown.

Its a bullshit phrase that gives the illusion we are doing something.

What we are doing is arbitrarily putting millions into a huge struggle financially whilst fucking with their mental health whilst allowing more than enough to basically go about life as normal so they can keep spreading and reinfecting.
On what basis do you think that this post is in any way accurate?

Gove this morning on Marr saying the Cabinet Office Sec will launch an investigation into the leak to the papers - Marr then asks was it him and he says no - then he says none of his colleagues leaked either......what fucking planet are they on when the leak was from a meeting that 4 individuals attended and then trying to tell us none of those 4 leaked the info ..... ?? Fucking mental - the only people who believe anything they say now is themselves. This lockdown will be a raggedy arsed affair with lots of people just not observing it.

Some welcome Govt backtracking. The farming lobby pushing to get more scrutiny on trade deals and pressure paying off. Also Govt backs off on Transport for London.

Truss and Eustice say Govt will not import chlorinated chicken from US plus newly trade and agriculture commission gets statutory role in Govt u turn over Lords amendment to Ag bill’

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...chlorinated-chicken-from-us-ministers-brexit?

Transport for London: We have now reached a deal with the Govt to keep our transport network running. Here’s what it means for Londoners:

-Free travel for under-18s & over-60s is protected
-Congestion Charge Zone will not be extended
-TfL fares won’t increase by more than what’s already agreed’

Yes, but that is a corruption and nepotism issue rather than the actual response to the pandemic. I do recognise the two will be linked - if you pick the wrong contractors you get sub service delivery.

Don't you think that the track and trace system - run by a serial failure with no experience in the sector, out sourced to a money pit company, entangled with a history of botched contracts, whose chair is part of the Soames family, running their system on Excel, missing all targets - is simultaneuosly a pretty important example of both cronyism and a poor quality response to the pandemic?

Yes, but I'm concerned that we are getting the cronyism mixed up with the pandemic response as a general hate of BJ and the tories - although that example you state is of course is a neat example of where they are hand in hand as part of the same issue.

Don't be too concerned mate.
It's quite possible to have a general hate for BJ and the tories and a specific hate based on their handling of the pandemic.

Yes I very much dislike the tories, but agree in terms of lockdowns and all that jazz it's been an impossible situation and most Western countries have struggled similarly. The biggest failure of the government is the test and trace system, but apart from that they've not been too incompetent I wouldn't say.
'Apart from that' (absolutely critical test and trace) yeah.
Maybe locking down earlier in March when we had the benefit of hindsight of what was happening in Italy and Spain and was coming our way.
Could have saved 30k lives.
But 'apart from that'.
PS oh and the care homes
PPS and lack of protective kit for NHS
PPPS not to mention Dominic Cummings.
And the rest.

I will have you know that this fine lady will be the head of the PHE replacement - the National Institute for Health Protection.

What a fucking disgrace

Do you remember when Dorrines went into the Celeb Jungle and people thought is was pretty fit. I accept it was probably over 10 years ago and I think people liked her - she's a fucking witch. Devioid of any redeeming features as far as I can tell. Another, in a long list, of people under qualified but over promoted

Hopefully Biden will win tonight as the scales will drop from the psudeo-cult over here who like to compare and attach Johnson to Trumps success

Support payment for asylum seekers is going up from £39.60 a week to £39.63. It's less than it was 14 years ago.

Patel says the 3p a week increase is fair and generous.

Do they get 80% of this for the next month?
