Liverpool (H) - Post-Match Thread

Bobbins penalty aside we were the better side imo.

We look so much more solid defensively this season, which is really pleasing.

That back 4 is our best and Cancelo is really starting to look the part.

We showed great character and balls to come back from going 1-0 down.

We done Pep for leaving Mahrez out for this one it was the right call.

Win the game in hand an we're right up there in the mix and the others will shite themselves.

while we persist with a midfield of Rodri ad Gundogan we will continue to underperform.....huge blindspot for Pep.
Individual errors (KDB, walker) will always happen but our midfield when those two play together is weaker both defensively and creatively.
If neither are good enough to play in the role on their own - neither are good enough full stop

Jesus was very good today - Ive called him out in the past but his last two goals have been absolute quality.

Thought torres was unlucky to be taken off

Dias and Laporte ver good and cancello was decent as well

Walker besides his mistake was also good

Sterling - frustrating - seems to be questioning himself again this season...he is taking too long on the ball again which is what he did when he first came

KDB isnt the same player at present - forget the penalty miss - he hasnt seemed the same since we got knocked out of the champs league last season

Until Pep changes that midfield we aint getting near the title this season - we need something ver different in their - play one or the other BUT NOT BOTH!

We really looked as though we had an inferiority complex against Klopp and his band of merry men today.

KDB and Sterling having a collective nightmare didn't help the situation mind you.

Would have taken the draw after 15 minutes but now feel disappointed at the result. Dippers are nothing special and I would hate City to go down the "dark arts" diving route to match them. Sky commentary again disgraceful. I hope KdB's cat has somewhere safe to hide this evening although based on that performance if Kev tried to kick it he would miss.

Liverpool front line were knackered after the first 20 min. I can understand the caution in not wanting to lose and you couldn't trust Pawson not to do what he did first half with not giving the foul on Sterling but even so, it was slow.

Definitely more important not to lose than to win at this stage but you really have to hit the target from the spot. All in all, City still moving in the right direction.

Thought City were marginally the better side over the whole game.

Craig Poorson, my oh my.

Not a bad result, just mean we can't lose at Anfield in the return fixture.

Pretty painful to miss a penalty and a sitter by Jesus but we were by far the better team.

Referee absolute dogshit as a lot predicted pre-match, Mane must have made 10 fouls and still didn't get a booked. Was actually amazed he gave the pen even though it was stonewall.

Really feel now that Raheem has to be dropped for Liverpool and United games. It's like playing with 10 men he is so poor. What is his record, 1 goal in like 20 games?

I never thought I’d see a Pep side playing for a draw at home but from about the 75th minute we made no effort to attack, content to pass pointless square passes across the back four.

Liverpool were there for the taking but Pep seemed more concerned with not getting hit on the break.

Its not very exciting to watch is it ?

Cracking game, but one that would have been even better had the fans been there

I honestly think, with the 12th man, we’d have won that in the last 15 mins. There was a sort of cautious approach towards the end (from both sides) but the roaring crowd would have pushed us on to get a winner

Fair result at the end of the day, and shades of the draw in our 98 point season... encouraging if anyway

Meh

Pep you are lame
yeah, they way pep took that penalty, the way pep missed that header,

he set the team up to stop what liverpool do, he did that, walkers brain fart, penalty and Jesus header, we should of won that due to pep,

Team and Pep were more than happy with this shit draw. Too bad, they were there for taking and we did not push on in second half to put pressure on their fragile defence.

Aston Villa went at them relentlessly and scored 7.

Missing the pen is really a regular theme for us, please stay after training to practice it.

Last year this fixture was a 4-0 win for City, 2 points less this season, 1 point plus for them. And we hardly did test Allison.
When we go to Anfield I wonder they will be so soft and happy with a draw against us as we were against them.

Sterling, KDB, Torres absolute shit game they had, Walker too. They should raise their game in games like this.

Chelsea, United, Spurs all won, they might as well be very happy with this 1-1 result now.

Spurs-City after the break, dont know what to expect from Pep in a big away game (first this season) if this is what happened a big home game. Maybe another "happy" draw?
Well we lost that fixture last season, so a draw would be an improvement.
When we go to Anfield I hope there is still no crowd ensuring they get every decision.
