A must read for fans of schadenfreude

Great read -- thanks. Curiously I didn't really get a sense of schadenfreude. I got the sense of one campaign who was disciplined, organized, on message and fiscally responsible vs. one that wasn't any of those things.

Oh, and also -- don't hire Kimberly Guilfoyle to do anything important.

But I knew that already. She went to Mercy High, which as all good Catholic boys who went to St. Ignatius know, is an instant warning sign.

remember, voting for Biden would have been the same as voting for Trump, and that's before we get to the Paris climate agreement

Mr Biden's defeat of Donald Trump has eased fears about a continuation of a damaging trade war between the US and China, the world's two biggest economies.
The FTSE 100 has topped the 6,000 mark for the first time in a month as stock markets rally after Joe Biden's US election victory.

Then do DC and it should ensure the Trumps of this world a much more difficult path into the WH.

Apparently this vote was a bit of a bullshit one. Pro-statehood people made it a yes or no question statehood or nothing else, when it's really a 3 way debate - statehood, status quo or independence.

As a result the vote was boycotted by most people and the 50% turnout is unlikely to convince anyone.

So DC should definitely be on its way, PR might not be so simple.

Seems that some of the states, mostly in the west and particularly California, still have millions of votes to count. Obviously nothing that could possibly affect the outcome, but sufficient to increase the popular vote margin from its current 3% to potentially around 5% making the pre-election polls look a bit more like they weren't that far out. Add to that the voter suppression efforts and USPS tampering in the swing states perhaps the polls were within their margin of error?

I don't think we'll ever know the full extent of the Trump Administration's attempt at subverting the result of the election by hobbling the USPS in closely contested states. Even the defunding of the USPS before DeJoy was brought in was all part of the scheme that they thought would go unnoticed. When it became obvious that fears over COVID meant postal votes would play a greater part in the result of the election, the GOP accelerated their plan by placing a partisan stooge as the head of the USPS, who then ordered the systematic removal of mail sorting machines in mainly Dem districts, and then oversaw the go-slow of mail delivery.

So before they even get to the GOP's claims of 'fraud', they should start with USPS.

Trump doing his best to take the GOP down with him.... Graham and Cruz both on CNN this morning - both defending Trump.... do they really believe that Fraud is going to be uncovered on a scale that reverses a 150,000 majority in Michigan? Trumps legacy was always going to be controversial but his classless and petulant behaviour since Wednesday should cement him as the most arrogant, most egotistical and most self-centred President in history... the USA is immaterial in this administration next to the interests of Donald Trump.

He was cemented as that within a week of his inauguration in 2017. The last 4 years has just proven that even his biggest critics underestimated the sheer venality of the ****.

The worst of it is that he ALWAYS believes he is right. As his niece (Mary Trump) has pointed on numerous occasions, in his own mind he can never be wrong, and if something does go wrong, it's always somebody else's fault.

Not really a good state of mind for a world leader with access to nuclear missiles.

Trump was never going to prove any significant voter fraud. Some technicalities re process and maybe some isolate issues but again they will have no impact at all on the outcome.

This is just classic Trump behaviour, throw accusations, make wild unverified claims and dont let up until the base adopts it as truth. There are already millions of Americans who will live the rest of their lives absolutely convinced that Trump was the rightful victor and that Biden stole this election. Trump cant personally accept that he lost and so he wont and he will take his idiot base with him. Trump will never, ever concede defeat. In his mind it will be the centre of his 2024 campaign.

Do you think that he will run again?
