The Masters Golf

Never mind the Masters... I've been looking for golf tuition videos online as I get back into it and found Paige Spiranac

My swing might not improve but boy does she cheer me up ;-)

Because he's an insufferable, arrogant twat.
I heard Radio 5 doing some stuff on him in the summer. They didn't mention this part.

I thought his approach was interesting. He has taken a vary scientific approach to the game. Basically redesigned his clubs around some scientific principles as opposed to just doing what everyone has always done. Clubs are aloud to be a certain max length, so he has been experimenting with a few at max length, then a few shorter ones with different club heads on the same lenth shaft. The idea being that you can get use to a specific length better than having every club different to the next. He is a bit cagey on the specifics as to what he uses but I give him credit for experimenting.

The approach is allowed and he's a professional looking to maximise his gains, can't argue with that. It's just the way he carries himself, communicates and his general attitude which rubs people the wrong way.

The authorities need to review it anyway because the distance problem is just taking away the essence of the game.

Someone posted on Twitter what Bryson was hitting into the greens. Ridiculous. Even changing the ball for the Pros won’t make a difference as he’ll still hit it further. I heard Augusta was planting trees so maybe they will try combat people bombing it over the corners in future.

will level it out if he has to hit longer clubs into the green which negates his advantage, the difference between hitting irons into the green and wedges is tangible. It's not about standardising length, it's just about bringing those historical features on courses back into play to make it a fairer contest between player and course.

So many courses now have to be redesigned due to the distance problem.

That's the most incredible shot I've ever seen, I think.

I've watched this several times, remarkable. Just seems like incredible good fortune but the reality is that the 16th hole and trying to skip the ball onto the green is an Augusta tradition in practice rounds - else I could never imagine someone intentionally trying to skip the ball onto the green from so close

It was his birthday & his 2nd hole in one in practice rounds

There is only one way to change the game back to make these courses play like they did 20/30 years ago and that is to change the equipment. You could give them a standardised ball or reduce the club length. Its that or accept that these guys are so good that everything plays like a par 3 or 4.

A friend of mine uses the one length irons, he plays off 5 and hits them well. The rationale behind the concept is that it's easier to hit clubs off 7 iron length than say 4 iron. Changes in setup aren't required either so it should make you more consistent. Getting the correct gapping between clubs is achieved by using iron heads with different lofts and ball reaction.
He's the only player I know that uses them, not my cup of tea, I think they're a bit of a blunt instrument.

Revolutionary idea.... Grow the rough thicker and make the fairways narrower around the 300 yd mark would be a start.
Players DON'T HAVE TO get the driver out everytime (some don't, I know)

Regarding De Chambeau. It all seems a little sour grapes.
People forget McIlroy, Johnson still knock it miles. Now there's a new kid on the block, a few noses are being pushed out of joint.
But, from what I know about him, he does seem to be a cock, and he's slow. I DESPISE slow golfers.

Must admit I didn't know much about him. Slow golfers are the worst.

As for others who hit it longer than everyone else - Tiger Woods was the first to really take the piss out of the course design.
