It is a surprise that these figures have only just come to light, yet the impending disasters are all discernible so far in advance :-)
It's not the same stats, but the benefits of membership have not "just come to light".

Leavers complain that the government spent £9m on the pro-Remain leaflet, but then they did (and do) prefer their lies to the truth in that leaflet. "The Government judges that what the UK gets back in opportunities, job creation and economic security from EU membership far outweighs the cost."

Nevermind Vic.

It's doom scenario time again, all the could do's and might be's from the Guardian held up as gospel, then the self assessed contribution from that remainer in chief, mad professor Grayling who manages to cram all ills into his forecasts between June 2016 to the present.
The worldwide car manufacturing slump all down to Brexit, woe, woe and
thrice woe.

We have zero chance of no deal - the tory / vote leave government is both totally transparent and useless, its incompetence is their for all to see. We have a shit deal on the table that was not influenced one jot by the ridiculous threat of no deal. Note the complete lack of any concern with any EU country, that tells you the deal is done and its the same shitty hard brexit terms that were always available. The only question left is that given a disastrous no deal is still available how do the tories climb down from their mountain of BS and take the deal. How pathetic we must look to other countries watching on.

They'll do it with a three word phrase which the clowns in this country will swallow.

Fuck the Foreigners
Not That Bad
Only 50 Years

Something like that

The reality is that Brexit only appeals when it is a vague concept. This deal will stink and the fall out will be immediate. The closer we are to the EU the better - unless you are a brexit idealist in which case only no deal is ever good enough. So this deal is bound to be seen as a failure - we will be discussing how to renegotiate it in spring next year.

And blaming the EU for the mess.

I wonder what happened to "We will not see movement from the EU unless and until they are faced with the prospect of a viable walk-away option and the political will to use it"? It's now 30 days since Johnson's walk-away deadline and look where we are!

It was always a laughable belief and no doubt the fact that it didn't work will be blamed on Remainers. We'll probably be told that Johnson is a Remainer as well.

Worldwide slump since 2016, 4%.

EU 5% (even with Germany 17% largely due to selling fewer to the UK because of the Brexit sterling devaluation).

UK 25% despite the help to exports of devaluation.

'Viable walk away' was always bolloxs. This deal is going to be chaos let alone no deal. I still think the 'deal' will have a big chunk of extension built into it. About enough time to build a load of lorry parks and build an IT system capable of dealing with not being in the CU.

BJ will no doubt want his legacy to be that he got brexit done. Well he just made a fucking mess of it.

And we are going to spend the next X years spaffing money on lorry parks / customs staff and brexit bureaucratic shit that will only serve to damage our economy.

It's starting to look a bit bleak, I've always defended Brexit on the basis of what people voted for but the march towards no-deal is madness.
