Well I think mask wearing will be mandatory outdoors at all times next year. We will have new lockdowns in Jan to March next year I doubt crowds will be allowed back in football games till end of next year at earliest

Totally agree. Mask wearing in especially the under 30s is not good enough from my experiences in shops.

I’ve taken to holding my breath whilst passing such cretins.
They're not cretins. You're traumatised. They are not. Both rational responses because age is a massive discriminator.

Sorry they are cretins. They are the ones that could have it so mild they don’t know it and are spreading it to others that may die.

Masks are to protect others not yourself.

'Musicians, sportsmen, actors, YouTubers, as well as MPs, scientists and doctors... should have been on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, as well as all the TV and radio stations... between every video, post and programme, and on their own videos and posts, on those platforms. Every day!'

Nothing worse than the members of the so called high society telling us plebs what to do.

All these people are likely to be social people who meet lots of people in their day to day life aka the worst sort of role model to stop spreading infection.

Only people worth listening to is the scientists and doctors.
For us, maybe, ut that is exactly where the govt have gone wrong with messaging. Not everyone is like me or you. Boris and his MPs have targeted their messaging to a nation they think is sensible, knowledgable, empathetic, interested in research, and who make sure they tune in to BBC or Sky News at 17:00 when there’s a briefing.

The average yoof will not have turned on BBC News, clicked on the gov website, searched for a scientific article online, or had a look at a YouTube video of a doctor once during this pandemic.

They need simple, targeted ads from people that would spark their attention. Some member of SAGE at a 17:00 briefing isn’t going to influence a 17 year old dullard to follow the rules. Kevin de Bruyne or Marcus Rashford on a YouTube (or any other platform they use) advert that comes on between every video they watch, putting short and simple scientific points across about Hands-Face-Space, would be far more likely to.

Even then most would probably ignore it. Once they found out their risk of dying from this was 0.00001% then it was game over. I would probably have been the same at that age.

Who should we use for all the middle aged and old people that are as bad if not worse.

No way are they worse, they know they could die , kids , and we have all done it , think they are never going to get ill let alone die
They are definately worse in my coffee shop, and neighbouring shops I go in I haven't had to ask any young people to wear a mask or to stop wandrering round chatting to friends, sitting at other tables, without their masks on. It isn't young people it's old people weAring the mask under their noses or on their chins.
All the gatherings and parties in houses breaking the rules around our area have been middle aged people, the people organising bus trips to Blackpool and coming back with covid weren't young people they were a group of carers in their 50 s.

Most would ignore it. But it might get through to a few which might save some lives. Young people can be very impressionable and are heavily influenced by their heroes.

I just thought it was something that should have happened throughout.

After Ian Brown was talking shite on Twitter, Liam Gallagher posted a number of pictures of himself on Instagram and Twitter wearing a mask (one didn’t cover his nose, mind, but at least he tried). One of his messages to Ian Brown was “no mither, no clue, up yer bum, fuck you” above a picture of himself with a mask on. I know lads in their 50s still copying Liam for what he wears, so that will have worked for some people.

They know they could die but a large chunk of them still don't give a fuck. Certainly see more young people openly flaunting rules but that doesn't mean a huge number of older people are doing the same. Maybe less obvious about it in some circumstances.

Was leaving Tesco the other day and it slightly bottlenecks into the one way at the exit. Was aware of someone right behind me, as in properly right behind me. Turns round, guy in his 30s - no mask to be seen. Gets into the car park and he drives away wearing workie gear in his British Gas van. Good chance he's in and out of houses all day, but still doesn't give a shit about wearing a mask to protect other people in a fairly busy supermarket or have any care for spacial awareness in the current circumstances. He is without doubt, a cretin.
