Another one.
Although Primary schools can stay open, High schools do need to close or the case levels will just NOT fall.
You can disagree all you want but over half of cases at home are triggered from high school kids going home and spreading it. That's over 50% of cases.
All lock down has done has lowered the R rate to 1 1-1.2 that is still increasing.
Now if high school kids were following the rules we might stand a chance. But they aren't. And that is the opinion of 4 high school teachers of my acquaintance in 3 different high schools.

I have seen a couple of tv docs that have been part of the trials and have no issues with taking the vaccine , i wouldnt have either, i will take it as soon as i am offered it

My antibody test has come back positive but really low levels

I want the vaccine soon

The reason i have been shielding for 8 months is because i had an adverse reaction to a tablet i was given (Terbinafine) in Jan 19. Reactions happen all the time with medicines. People die because of peanuts ffs. Luckily the anti vaxxers make up such a small amount of the population( but not social media unfortunately) that herd immunity should hopefully be easily achieved. People have died because of Penicillin, does anybody think we should stop prescribing that?

If they can get the vaccine rollout moving around 1st Dec

Surely it would make sense to rejig the school calendar a bit, not losing any teaching time but moving school holidays.

Plan is apparently to have all the over 50's vaccinated by Easter, move some school holidays around so that kids are in as little as possible over Dec & Jan? Furlough runs till March so most parents don't have to worry about time off.

The Gov were prepared to absolutely blow up the economy to slow the spread, surely some holidays can be moved.
not a bad idea imho.

Good to hear
But you also have T-cell immunity for many more months yet. A new antibody test that find T-cells will be out by December.

3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

76 / 20 NW v 137 / 32 NW v 122 / 23 NW v 132 / 27 NW today

Sunday data always impacted but this is certainly not escalating as it was.

Just took the time to read back last few days posts. Sorry for what happened to you. No malice was intended. Was genuinely interested to see how people will be able to decide if somethings safe other than waiting for a long time
No probs mate. I will take the vaccine once I have it squared off in my head it is safe to do so.

Details of todays 132 England hospital deaths:

Age ranges 9 aged 40 - 59, 46 aged 60 - 79, 77 aged 80 +

Of the NW deaths 9 were in Liverpool hospitals, 7 were in Manchester hospitals, 4 Blackpool and 2 Tameside and 2 Mid Cheshire

England 132 Hospital Deaths by date:

14 Nov adds 23 = 23 after 1 day (Last wk 22 were added).

13 Nov adds 75 = 136 after 2 days (Last wk 76 were added)

12 Nov adds 17 = 232 after 3 days (Last wk 15 were added)

11 Nov adds 7 = 215 after 4 days (Last wk 4 were added)

10 Nov adds 7 = 247 after 5 days (Last wk 1 was added)

No records broken today for first time in a while. Itself a good sign even on a Sunday.

The missing three deaths were added to 31 Oct = 208, 25 Oct = 159 and 23 Oct = 144.

Scotland data:

0 deaths

1159 cases 7.2% positive

1241 in hospital (up 43)

100 in icu (up 8)

Seems a little more worrying.

Scotland 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

Deaths 1 v 6 v 3 v 0 today Is certainly good news.

Cases 1303 v 1148 v 1245 v 1159 today is harder to interpret. Plateau yes. Fall -???

Patients 1016 v 1193 v 1245 v 1241 today - certainly a clear levelling off but big rise today though still taking it to less than 7 days ago.

Icu ventilator 86 v 81 v 111 v 100 today - again a levelling or even fall but big rise today and high death rates are part of these hospital number reductions. But not the whole story as numbers have slowed.

On the whole nor as bad as it might be. But need to watch where it goes from here.

Wales data:

16 deaths - still struggling disproportionately here.

Cases 1333 - bit of a concerning rise here after ending the circuit breaker last week.

3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

Deaths 5 v 16 v 19 v 16 today

Cases 1104 v 809 v 744 v 1333 today - big rise after slow but steady fall during the circuit breaker.

Patients 612 v 809 v 950 v 1060 (Friday) - hard to interpret this

Ventilators 52 v 53 v 66 v 67 (Friday) - ditto given the high death rate per population likely a reducing factor here more than elsewhere.

Rolling 7 day total cases in Scotland has fallen from 8382 7 days ago to 7851 today.

Same kind of number I cite regularly for N Ireland.

The same number in Wales has fallen from 8293 last wk to 6233 today. But today's number will start bumping that up tomorrow I suspect.

N Ireland data

9 deaths

These deaths were 5 female and 4 male and 6 of the 9 were over 80. The other 3 were over 60.

472 cases

This is 52 up on last Sunday so the 7 day total will have risen a little for third time this week after falling every day during recent weeks.

Patient numbers not released but 39 on ventilators - same as yesterday.

Once again, you are making stuff up to suit your desire for conflict. Do me a favour now and fuck off.
So I take it you are now going to take the vaccine when it is first offered to you? I think that is good news. If thats not the case and you still wont, please tell me how im making stuff up?

You also forget the disasterous impact closing schiols again would have on a generation of young people.
Long term closing, or not having opened in September I agree, but turning the 2 1/2 week Christmas holiday into a 3/12 or 4 week break I think would benefit more than harm and may see us through January February with hospital numbers kept down.
