Wales 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today (or Thursday in patients/ventilators data)

Deaths: 13 v 32 v 20 v 28 today

Cases 1301 v 958 v 933 v 1016 today

Patients 794 v 953 v 1080 v 1149

Ventilated 66 v 51 v 72 v 68 - this very high death rate is a bigger factor than in larger nations in this up down number.

That's going to be the updated advice/slogan from HMG. It was filmed last week, so I'm told... Not sure when, if ever, it will be announced though. My guess is when this "lockdown" ends on Dec 2nd or for over Xmas when people have visitors.
Good news. Someone finally seems to be listening.

Scotland 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

Deaths 24 v 39 v 36 v 37 today

Cases 1101 v 1591 v 1118 v 897 today - promising reduction.

Patients 1149 v 1245 v 1198 v 1193 today - looks like a positive path.

Ventilated icu 80 v 106 v 92 v 100 today - like Wales yo-yoing as deaths are likely impacting this number

England hospital deaths 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today

208 / 83 NW v 283 / 84 NW v 304 / 89 NW v 316 / 75 NW today

Week to week NW % of total

40% v 30% v 29% v 24% - so again you see the steady decrease in the NW deaths week to week.

England hospital deaths - other details:

84 NE & Yorkshire 72 Midlands and 29 from the South West - which is becoming a relative hot spot unfortunately.

Age ranges of the 316 deaths 20 - 39 (2), 40 - 59 (22), 60 - 79 (128), 80 + (164) In recent days the proportion of the over 80s dying versus the 60 - 79s has notably decreased. May be the biggest factor in death numbers stabilising.

Manchester, Liverpool and Pennine hospitals contributed the most deaths in the NW with 12 each.

When will the welsh lockdown show in the figures ?
The so-called ‘Circuit Breaker‘, which many were clamouring here for, started over four weeks ago and ended 9th November.
I would have thought that by now we would have seen an impact but, unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to have had as much of an impact as the tiered system we had here. The NW, in the main, was in Tier 3 and is now beginning to see a fall in numbers, having started later.

Hope Kinder Scout wasn’t too wild this morning?

Interesting. So those clamouring for a circuit breaker might not be onto something?

kinder was blowy as hell! But great to get the heart racing. Hot bath and the rioja is waiting next to the radiator

I went out at 9 and got back at 11.
Waiting for the chimney sweep to arrive and now having a devil’s own job lighting the fire before the rugby.

England hospital deaths in detail.

There were more than usual add ons from the past few weeks today and only 269 of the deaths actually happened in the past 5 days. The add ons went back to June - perhaps some kind of audit.

There are some concerning numbers from recent days though that make me less confident than I was that the peak death number might stay at 9 Nov. That itself is closing in on 300 sadly. But 15 Nov is already at 282 and 17 November only on day 3 is on a record number too.

20 Nov adds 52 - 52 after 1 day (Last wk 61 added, so this is a fall).

19 Nov adds 143 = 193 after 2 days (Last wk 164 added = 215 - so again this is a fall)

18 Nov adds 50 - 287 after 3 days (Last wk 51 added = 208 - so less added but much higher number). 287 is the highest number at day 3 since 26 April - this is 3 days further back than any other number in this second wave has matched from the first wave and was a milestone I hoped we would avoid. But it now looks very likely this will now go over 300 in the next few days and become the new peak of wave 2 ahead of 9 Nov that has had that ignominious title. We can only hope this is not the start of it but the real wave 2 peak.

17 Nov adds 18 = 269 after 4 days (Last wk 13 added -= 240). Wk to wk rise is a concern after the others. 269 is also the highest day 4 total in wave 2 yet (though the day behind it is already over it so that record will go after just 24 hours which is a worry). Last time day 4 had this many deaths was 29 April. Just 3 wks after the wave 1 peak deaths by day 4 at 709. Let us hope we see nowhere near that number.

16 Nov adds 6 = 252 after 5 day (Last wk 13 added = 287). So most dates today added LESS cases than a week ago which is a good sign.

There are too many add ons for dates after here (about 20 different ones) to need to post but 15 Nov is now at 282, 9 Nov at 296 so a few homing in on the unwanted 300 deaths on a day.

N Ireland data:

10 deaths

5 M / 5 F 6 in hospital, 3 in care homes, 1 elsewhere

2 aged 60 - 79, 8 over 80

357 cases at 14.1% positive.

The number of UK coronavirus hospital deaths has risen by 391 in the highest Saturday increase since May

NHS England said 326 people had died in its hospitals including two people aged between 20 and 39
