COVID-19 — Coronavirus

It absolutely boggles my mind that work are happy to risk an outbreak by having a full office but theyve managed to get this far without a positive case so i guess they are just crossing fingers. Funnily enough I've been full of a cold this past week and quite a few people are under the weather (I literally only go to work and home) but no symptoms of covid thankfully.

Piss poor decision and management that from the company. A business can functions just as well with colleagues WFH. Not sure if decision makers have trust issues with their workforce.

Very few roles might be unavoidable but most should be able to WFH and the business should make every effort to support WFH.

I think this is the best way I've seen of showing tiers and cases across the 2 tiers.

You have been well and truly shafted if you live in Stratford upon Avon, but I assume that's because the average age is probaby 87.

View attachment 5863
Lancaster is below Stratford with less than 100 cases per 100,000 people but has been put into Tier 3 with the rest of Lancashire.

im in Lancaster, the dot adjoined to Stratford. Feeling pretty gutted.

Actually i'm in Morecambe and we were angry with lancaster because the only reason we had a spike at all was the uni, but that might be splitting hairs.
Bloody hell mate living in Morrycambee is bad enough but being in tier 3 as well, Christ :)!
Still you can always 'nip' over the border to Cumbria.

Good afternoon healdplace I hope you are keeping well?

Out of interest do you know how long ago Liverpool had the same number of cases per 100,000 as Manchester?

cheers
On 21 October Manchester weekly pop was 511 and rising. Liverpool 534 and falling. So over the next 24 hours approx. As by next day the position was reversed.

Liverpool had peaked at 764 on 8 October when Manchester was at 612 and falling.

Manchester peaked at 812 on 3 October when Liverpool was 619 and rising.

Can’t work out this at all. 2000 or 4000 thousand in the Etihad or Old Trafford isn’t the same as 4000 at craven cottage for example. Surely it should be a ratio of the capacity.

Guess it's to do with the amount of people travelling to stadiums, via train etc

Matt Hancock is a dickhead!!!
There are no words strong enough to describe him, he is deluded and has been bent over and fucked royal by the Scousers and the Southern Mafia, how could he fall for that one? The North/South divide with a Murkeyside alliance for the latter is so obviously biased my blind goldfish can see what's going on.

There is a load of holes in it. What if your travelling from a tier 3 area to watch a game. Surely that shouldn't be allowed. I think capacity effects the smaller grounds more as space is more limited. 6000 capacity league 2 ground like Crawley for example who probably average only 2000 so what change is it for them.

He’s the very definition of a ‘wet lettuce’
The fact he’s climbed to such a high position in government is staggering. Even more so that they allow him to go in front of the media.

Tier 3, eh? Shocked, I am!

I put my business into creditors voluntary liquidation this week after almost 29 years - I'll pay nearly £5k for the privilege too.

I've fought like fuck for months but sometimes you have to do it for the good of your health and sanity.

I'm just a one-man director band, christ knows what Manchester and its surroundings are gonna look like four months from now.

As long as London is okay though!
So sorry to hear that, I seem to remember from previous posts you were hamstrung from receiving assistance as you were on a min wage with dividends paid from your limited company. Some people think this is a way to avoid tax, it isn't, quite often with small businesses it's about survival. I have a limited company but fortunately have retained around 70% of my turnover, if it gets worse I'll be joining you, I hope you find a way back when this whole destructive episode is finished, it's devastated lives, families, businesses, still here though so very best of luck to you.

Make of this as you will.

Most accurate description of him I have read on here.

There's currently 10,000 containers full of over priced PPE (which the tax payer is paying £1m demurrage charges a day for) stuck in port and the chubby bald twat has the audacity to be smug about his announcement.

No doubt once we are fully rid of the virus he will be lined up for some form of honours and a peerage.

Smug is the word. I always get the impression he is enjoying this.

this doesn’t seem to suggest the lockdown or the tier system is working,

Surely it just suggests that the tier system wasn't working.

The lock down has successfully reduced numbers, but to keep them down we need higher tiers than before.

Chris Whitty said at the presser when tiers were originally announced that they were too weak and wouldn't work. So this shouldn't come as any sort of surprise.

Wales data not good -

But there are more catch up cases still be added it would seem. Presumably in England too unfortunately.

Deaths 28

Cases 1251 - high due to the catch up referenced above it seems.

3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v today:

Deaths 36 v 34 v 23 v 28 today

Cases 1272 v 857 v 1048 v 1251 today
