Had to do a double take but this is no joke! He has agreed to play in their Copa Del Rey tie against Levante. What the fuck??
 
That is really bizarre. Didn’t he retire about three years ago?!

Yeah. There has to be more to it, like you say it makes no sense. And by saying he’s agreed to play their cup match makes it sound like that will be the only game he’s joining for? Unless I’m just misinterpreting it. Very odd.
 
I’ve been to a few games in the Segunda B (Spain’s third flight) recently, at CD Marino of Tenerife. Mostly semi pro and regionalised. Given this is a further tier down and from the standard I’ve seen, he’ll probably still be the best player on the field by a distance
 
He is always decent to us in the meeja. Then again, doesn't (didn't?) have some sort of role in the academy? Maybe on the pr side of things, or liaising between the club and the parents of the young lads?

His title is something like Loan Liaison Officer; he looks after our players out on loan.
