Interesting.
The guy who graduated with honours in political economy and political science understands nothing about the economy or how it works.
Waste of time that degree.
Clearly.

Tutored by Vince Cable too.You would have a great point but for the fact she is shadow chancellor and his own education which you should probably take a look at ;-)
Tbh it started out as laughing at politicians on the ropes in general - not particularly labour or tory. Are people having a go at Labour politicians for not doing well in an interview with Andrew Neil? While Liar Johnson hid in a fridge rather than face him?
It started out as Emily Thornberry’s evisceration (metaphorically speaking) of Liz Truss over the Japan trade deal but was deflected, by you, to laughing at politicians in general; a diversion gleefully jumped on by brexiteers rather than counter Thornberry’s facts and figuresTbh it started out as laughing at politicians on the ropes in general - not particularly labour or tory.
You're a bit off-beam I think, Neil did edit the UK edition of The Economist early in his career.Given Andrew Neil is a political journalist and also knows fuck all about the economy or how it works or indeed about trade deals as a whole, that isn’t the take down you imagine...
Really sorry. I understand now what I did was wrong, and it just goes to show what a serious business the internet is and how easily what may be intended as a harmless joke can get out of hand. Thank you for choosing to deal with this in a low key way on this occasion, but I will consider it a final warning re my conduct on your thread. It started out as Emily Thornberry’s evisceration (metaphorically speaking) of Liz Truss over the Japan trade deal but was deflected, by you, to laughing at politicians in general; a diversion gleefully jumped on by brexiteers rather than counter Thornberry’s facts and figures
Just for the record, Liz Truss had opened the debate but didn't reply to Thornberry. She left her junior, the Minister for Trade Policy, Greg Hands to wind up. Basically, Labour MPs took the piss (an important deal, but hardly "groundbreaking" as it mostly just copied the EU-Japan deal), pulling to shreds all the flowery claims about British exports (especially geographic marks like Stilton). It started out as Emily Thornberry’s evisceration (metaphorically speaking) of Liz Truss over the Japan trade deal but was deflected, by you, to laughing at politicians in general; a diversion gleefully jumped on by brexiteers rather than counter Thornberry’s facts and figures

The BBCs top political presenter is extremely poor on European politics.I wasn’t questioning his abilities as an editor. Neil is poor on economics. As a political journalist he is also extremely poor on European politics.
You think that your lack of any understanding is surprising who - apart from yourself? -;)Fair point, which is why fish should be a good chip to use for leverage for more important concessions from the EU. Not sure what we’ve secured in exchange for the three year transition.
Hey - I was just holding a mirror up to someone who clearly needs seeks to score stupid pedantry points on grammar on a football forumYep. It’s fucking tragic.
“Ooh look how important and connected I am, not forgetting how modest I am”
Yep - and I freely except that I was 'protected' by the support groupMaking you look good?
The Liberal Democrats don't like being left out thoughFucking hell - takes some brass neck to turn up to an Andrew Neil interview as a shadow treasury minister knowing fuck all about the economy.
Fuck - but you are really good;-)Really sorry.
