Liverpool thread 2020/21

I agree the fixtures pile up for clubs isn't great but is there really a big difference playing at 12.30 instead of 3pm on a Saturday after playing on a Wednesday? It's only 2 its a half hours.

Oh and it was a definite penalty and Klopp is a whopper
I thought Klopp was saying that they just shouldn't play on a Saturday. Give them and other clubs who play in Europe a Sunday game is what he is saying. Issue then is perhaps it makes it a bit unfair for the Thursday night clubs as they cannot all move their games to Monday to get an extra day off.

On the national agenda now Milner, Klopp and Henderson (all after one game) says it's not working. Welcome the club...glad you managed to catch up with what everyone else knew since the start of last season. Oh and you're now getting a few injuries. Not easy is it managing to cope with those - playing youth and squad players or seniors out of position. Again, welcome to the club.
Not a freaking peep last season when they had zero injuries and VAR never cost them in terms of points or game changing decisions. I wonder if Klopp's mask as the darling of the media is starting to slip into one of a moaning windbag who only wants change when his team suffers. Yesterday's meltdown on BT showed a man under a lot of pressure.
I`ll have plenty of that Stanley.Well said mate.

No matter how many examples I observe — and there have been countless — or how obvious the reasons for the behaviour, it is still somehow amazing to see how eager the media are to heap praise on Liverpool and parrot the franchise’s official narrative about nearly any topic.

I know there’s nothing surprising in this but it is and always will be laughable, especially in the context of our similar assertions of the burden of fixture congestion and the toll major injuries have taken on our team the last few seasons being largely ignored at best, and widely ridiculed at worst.

I have taken to calling it ‘Happy Klopping’.

Liverpool feeling the strain (Sky Sports)

“Liverpool have been relentless for the last three seasons. From reaching the Champions League final in 2018 and then winning it the following year as they pushed Manchester City all the way in the Premier League, to last season's march to the title, Jurgen Klopp's side have been consistently brilliant.

But there are signs now they are starting to feel the strain. First, the context: Liverpool went top of the Premier League with their draw at Brighton. Diogo Jota demonstrated once again how the Reds have strengthened their attack with another fine goal. But no pre-season, a condensed fixture list, and a string of injuries are taking their toll on this team.
Well said Seb.Too often we have seen this team have the rub of the green. As others have pointed out "welcome to the club".

Ha ha Liverpool two trophies us six. I wonder which team has been consistently brilliant? If they want to add those two bit ones they won, one in which they are laughingly called world champions, then we'll add our two charity shield ones in too.
Sorry mate I have to pull you up on that. They have won 3 trophies ... something called The World Trophy Series Cup,or some other fucking daft tournament. ;)

Isn't karma a bitch..!

The Egyptian diver gets ever so slightly touched on his boot at home to wet spam and hits the turf whilst screaming at the top of his voice... and it's a penalty, of course it is, it's at Anfield and they were losing 1-0 at the time..

This decision is met with all smiles when the camera pans to bingo on the touchline, his full set of newly purchased shiny railings are on full show in 4K HD on the TV..

Didn't hear any complaints from bingo or the water carrier Henderson then, in fact not a f'kin peep from either of them..

Welbeck gets booted by the sweaty sock, it's a penalty, funny how the whinging ****'s can't wait to voice their injustice of it all..

When the playing field gets levelled out a bit and they cop for a few injuries and get reffed like everyone else, barring the rags of course, the best manager in world football unravels and loses his shit big time..

The mard twat needs to stop coming across as a bit of a knob when spouting his post match interviews, trying to belittle the interviewer and put his management prowess to good use and sort his shit out..!

Maybe they're not as good as they think they are after all...!
Bill that is one funny post mate.It had me chucking and grinning all the way through it mate.I doff my cap sir, very well put.

It's a penalty nowadays, and certainly moreso than loads that the scousers have had, but I don't think it should be.

Incidentally, I watched the whole of that game and if we lose the league the that shower of shite, I'll be really pissed off. They were way worse than any of our crap performances. They were outplayed by Brighton other than the first ten minutes of each half.

And for any Liverpool fans moaning about the penalty, I give you exhibit A...

I don't have time to link exhibits B to Z.

That clip shows Salah's new technique to add to his penalty earning repertoire. Used again yesterday the way he manages to spin as he falls reminds me of the ballerina doing a pirouette on the Amazon ads on here.

Yes I mentioned that but it was so important I forgot it's name, like a world charity shield or something.

Klopp effectively blamed BT Sport for Milner getting injured (not the fact he’d played a 35 year old 3 times in a week)

The decisions didn’t even go against them. It was the correct decisions. Wait until they get one that actually is unfair.

Exactly! Even jug ears on MOTD last night said, " After a game with some contentious decesions that went against Liverpool"....,erm no they weren't. That Brighton penalty was cleared than most the victims get.

They were dire at Brighton. A couple of goals narrowly ruled out but Brighton also missed a penalty and the best chance of the game.

They need Salah and Mane to stay fit because between the two of them one will produce a moment out of nothing every game. Even without Van Dijk I think Liverpool are better able to play an ordinary game and win than City because of their forwards.

The title is all to play for. A lot of teams are potentially involved. I was ready to rule City out but the last 2 games and Liverpool's form has made me think again.

I think he has a point re the fixtures and the subs. Clubs agreed the broadcast deal before Covid and football is not looking after the players.

I think Klopp wanted to create a distraction post match though so media talk about him and his topics rather than what was another very poor Liverpool performance

Wasn't moaning about VAR after this happened was he?

Klopp is only doing what the Piss Can did, making such a fuss that officials are reluctant to give decisions, VAR or otherwise, against them in the future. And when the next set of tv fixtures come out, I bet they don't have any early kick-offs.
Hopefully by then they'll be in the Europa league so their Prem games will be on Sundays

I've just read the redacted transcript of Des K and Obersturmbannfuhrer Klippity. Credit where credit is due - Klippers didn't mention the war once. But let's be clear, the narrative from Klippity would have been completely different had VAR fucked over Brighton's pen! TheCoachWreckersAndScoutingSystemHackersFC have laughed their tiny cocks off when VAR has screwed their opponents. It cheers me up no end when the big leather boot with toecap is on the other foot. Well done, Des, yer got him going good 'n proper.

Missed his tweet moaning about this.

Great point.

Plus, Wellbeck didn't make such a dramatic reaction to his foul.

We all know that Klopp coaches his team to go down under the slightest of touch.

Henderson came across as a bitter and entitled prick during his post-match interview on MOTD: when asked about his foul on Wellbeck "that wasn't a penalty"

He then berates VAR and said "I'd rather play without it".

Play without it?

Didn't hear him say that last season.

Strange that don't you think?

Havent watched much football lately only City matches really.
Just seen all the fuss about the penalty against liverpool, well the dippers player took a wild swing missed the ball and kicked the Brighton player, penalty all day long.
Than saw the penalty liverpool got against WHU were the hammers player just touched Salah sole of his boot. Salah flew into the air, doing a 180 twist as he went with a scream. Very embarrassing to watch a grown man pretending he was hurt, if fact I was surprised he could even feel the contact as it was so light.

I didnt hear liverpool saying that it shouldnt have been a penalty for them. Yet when their player swings wildly and with a lot more force than the salah penalty liverpool moan like little kids.

What a pathetic, victim culture that club and fans have.
