The sooner the EU cave in and give us everything we want the better. I can’t understand the delay myself

Boris practicing his churchillian and borderline xenophobic speech for when the expected no deal is announced.

JRM just ordered another magnum of champagne in preparation for a ceremonial mask free and unsocially distanced toast as his earnings quadruple.

This country has a knack for kicking itself in the bollocks and feeling bloody grateful it did.

I bet the Brexit ultras on here are shitting themselves now Johnson’s getting involved.

My prediction is still the same. We’ll compromise on LPF and governance. They’ll compromise on fish. Victory will be declared by Johnson.

It was always going to be down to Johnson to make the decision. UVL, like Barnier can only give ground within the scope of the mandate given to them by the E27.

Johnson sets the UK mandate, UVL cannot set the E27 mandate. If Johnson isn’t going to concede ground, then there is no point to the phone call.

If Johnson is looking for more concessions on fish, then he needs to be talking to Paris, Madrid, Dublin. The impasse is political, not technical.

Also - is this the mighty EU giving a slap to the French president for having the temerity to seek to look after France's interests as a sovereign nation?

EU chief urges members to stay united in Brexit talks | Money | Malay Mail

This comment:

"Some EU members — notably France and the Netherlands, whose boats fish in UK waters — are now concerned that Barnier and the European Commission will give too much ground in the final hours of talks."

Brought to mind a previously stated view that some posters have never been able to accept the truth of:

"We will not see movement from the EU unless and until they are faced with the prospect of a viable walk-away option – and the political will to use it”
"We will not see movement from the UK unless and until they are faced with the prospect of a viable walk-away option – and the political will to use it” - Macron1632

Show me the post and let's all see if you were/are twisting words

Certainly - if you can show that I have explicitly stated that it will require ".....50 years to see the benefit." - then you can be sure that I will have the strength of character to acknowledge that you were correct in your post.

If I only referred to Moggs comments, rather than expressed my own explicit view that it would take 50 years, can I be equally sure that you will have the strength of character to set the record straight ?
I might have checked but the search facility has gone to pot, so I'll take your word for it that you were only commenting on Mogg's optimistic view that it might take 50 years to see the benefit of Brexit (or 50 minutes in his self-interested case). Most economists (and the Government if we could see their own forecasts, still supressed) think we'll never see a financial benefit.

Looks like the no-deal press narrative is starting to creep in.

Number 1 - Blame The French.

JRM's personal finacial benefit goes through the roof on Monday as he shorts the pound for his own gain.

With respect mate, you’re crazy if you think Rees-Mogg is calling any shots here.

I think this pisses me off more than anything. Those confidently predicting the ‘easiest deal in history’ are the same cunts moaning when the EU try to lowball us. Anyone with a brain who wasn’t consumed with bile for the EU could see we weren’t holding many cards if we voted to leave.

How could anyone sensibly believe that we were going to be in the driving seat? Really?
