Three defeats out of four games last season is enough to give everyone pause for thought tbf. Plus the nagging suspicion that a manager who has twice deliberately fielded weakened teams against them still doesn’t understand the shite we went through for decades
I get all that but that was then. I have watched Only fools and horses, sorry, i mean man united twice this week and they are fucking rubbish. The back line is comedy gold.
We on the other hand look like a team again. Solid displays and a bit of spirit and fight in them. Solid back line, crazy midfield and fast attack. JUst gotta put them away.

Looking at the lineup vs OM game, the following players are probably going to start, rest of the spots will depend on how it goes today.
Eddy, Dias, Rodri, KDB, Sterling, Jesus

I hate to say it, but they aren't anywhere near as bad as they are being made out to be?

Their final third is certainly potent and that rat-faced whingeing fucker Fernandes is, sadly, a top player.

They have structural faults at the base of their midfield and right across their back four, certainly in terms of a technical capacity to bring the ball out.

United have a manager who sort of knows what they need but doesn't have the tactical acumen to get the best out of their formations.

They can cause damage at the top end, so we need to be precise in our possession, take no risks, and take our chances when they do come along.

I sense it could be a long Saturday night for either team.
Tolm,

Do you see Pep possibily sacrificing say Gundagun & play Rodri & Dino with Kev?

Just think against these fuckers like you say going forward on the counter they are better than we are, not saying there players are better as man forman we are stronger I just feel they finish better than we do imo, we miss far to many

Protect dont fall into the trap, unless we start well & score we are always vulnerable with route 1 go for it
Could we maybe match them with 3-5-2?
Ederson
Stones Dias Laporte
Walker Cancello
Dino Rodri
Kev
Mahrez Sterling

Or he could stick to plan & Gundagun & Jesus instead of Laporte & Dino 4 3 3

Angelinio would fit like a glove in a 3 5 2

Gundo as well ... now that he’s been taken off at half time and no assurance for Sterling if he doesn’t produce some goods here, this is his test run out now ...

I’d rather he had taken Ferna off in some sort of sign that he’d start him in the derby ahead of Gundo and had left him on here for the full 90.

And another question; What is it 'in your head' that predicts a united win?

I didn’t predict a united win.
I was trying to make the point, albeit in a ridiculously obtuse manner, that a person’s assessment of a probable outcome is entirely separate from a person’s loyalty.
I’ve spent a great number of years turning up to games, knowing full well that we’d lose, and occasionally being happily surprised when we won.
Nowadays I mostly predict that we’ll win but win or lose I don’t ever lose my compass.

Back on track :-) I want us to batter the shit out if them but I think we might draw. Still love City though - and want us to win - totally & utterly :-)

Maybe I reading this wrong but I think based on tonight’s line up Cancelo will start on Saturday.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Dias
Cancelo
Fernandinho
Gundogan
Kdb
Foden
Mahrez
Jesus

Best side on current form.

some selection headaches and all for good reasons , eight players competing for four defensive spots , midfield you could pick any from half a dozen or more players and Sergio back in action up front , we could pick two seperate teams to beat those Raggy bastards. But i will settle for eleven with the right attitude ,passion and commitment to put them in their place

The only major twists I can see coming are no Walker (Cancelo and Mendy start), Aguero ahead of Jesus, or Sterling on the bench. But I do think the former two are unlikely; Walker is a main stay and Aguero may not be fit enough. However with Sterling I'm on the fence about what'll happen.

I know that Mendy will start ahead of Ake but I wish the latter would start because he looks more solid in defending. It would have been harder to decide on if Mendy was the crossing beast he once was but I honestly feel he doesn’t contribute to the attack enough these days for us to trade off likely defensive shortcomings.

I know that Rodrigo will start ahead of Fernandinho but I feel that Fern gives us that street smartness, leadership and doggedness in the middle of the park. Better yet we can play Rodri and Fern. Ake also offers that additional heading skill for corners.

MY WISH

Ederson
Walker Dias Laporte Ake
Fernandinho Rodrigo
De Bruyne
Mahrez Aguero Sterling

But looking at PEP’S NOTE I can see the following:

Ederson
Walker Dias, Laporte Mendy
Rodrigo
De Bruyne Gundogan
Mahrez Jesus Sterling

Stones is 100% playing. You don't drop a guy playing with the confidence he has.

Guardiola has just ruled out Aguero starting, unsurprisingly.
