Part of the reason for doing it is that there won't be enough drivers so they need to sweat the assets they have. As a driver you don't have to drive excessive hours - tell them you are too tired for it to be safe. What are they going to do sack you and replace you from a non-existent pool of unemployed HGV drivers?

It’s been a pretty straight downward trajectory since Blair/Brown. Cameron, then May, then Johnson. Who next? Gove?!

The most irritating thing is it’s been a complete waste of four years. There’s nothing in the divergence now that wasn’t known even before the initial referendum, in the meantime its been top of the agenda continuously and domestic politics has been an afterthought.

We could and should have been at this stage a long long time ago.

There is no point in having another four days circling the drain. If neither side is going to move then you could have another forty days and it wouldn’t make any difference.
