I find it marvellous that in regards to things like COVID-19 response, lockdown, inequality issues, climate change, etc it's the Government who are seen as being at fault and responsible, yet as to how the negotiations on the trade deal have progressed, it's all "own it brexiters!" :)

YEP ..... you lot own it all . Everything that disadvantages me and mine will be placed on your doorstep from Jan 2021 onwards. You ;to bought on the forthcoming shit show because of your worries and fears.... you each voted for Brexit for your own reason backed up by the lies you were told.

And then you trusted the lying Tories to deliver what you wanted.

Not sure any of the main leavers on this thread give a flying fuck of the consequences that lie ahead.
They got their Brexit and that’s that.
They will defend it until their dying breath regardless of whatever evidence is there to show it’s not going to be the utopia they thought it would be.
Everyone just needs to crack on and make the best of it.
Put yourself in our shoes.....

We get all this shit whilst knowing that you will end up needing to thank us - but doubt many (any?) will;-)

BTW - just trying to add a bit of levity - people seem to have gotten a bit tense

I don’t think there are many that have a clause in that the eu are proposing on the uk

As I understand it ‘dynamic alignment’ is EU insists that if it brings in new rules and we don’t follow suit, then it has right unilaterally to impose tariffs, without recourse to independent arbitration.

the uk would not be permitted to have retaliatory tariffs to protect its position.

equally , if the uk proposes new rules there is no obligation on the eu to follow suit.

that does not sound like commonality and trading partners but control by the eu.

I don’t think boris could agree to that, but he is a thick twat and he likes to please whoever he is talking to so he may do .
With regard to dynamic alignment both sides would have equal obligations and rights so there would be commonality.

Calm down dear.

I expect you to do something about it, too.

Then you missed out. Brexit itself was the result of a decades long campaign by the print media, of hostility to a Europe and anti-immigration sentiment. Tories themselves have long been hostile to Europe and Europeans at a grass roots level.

There are many ways to effect change. Sitting there passively isn’t one of them.
Aah, so it was the ‘thick white racists’ with the lead pipe in the library.

That is absolutely true. The vast majority of people who voted regardless of the way they voted did not understand the ramifications of what they were voting for and according to the opinion polls many who voted leave are now starting to understand the folly of that decision.

But as has been pointed out before the better educated and potentially better informed voted to remain.

Cameron and the Tory Party generally have a lot to answer for.

As does Corbyn, given his lukewarm support for remain. Indeed it could be argued that had Corbyn got enthusiastically behind the remain campaign then the vote could have been easily won.

But we are where we are and will have to make the best of it. I do however live in hope more than expectation that those who foisted this situation upon us through their lies and skullduggery will be brought to book. I'm not holding my breath.
Old myths never die, they just get repeated ad infinitum .
Now put that rattle down.

Everyone needs to focus their energy on moving forward and trying to live their lives in Brexit Britain the best they can under their individual circumstances.
Nothing anybody can do will change what's coming next month.
Time to look ahead and stop with what's done and dusted.
Genuinely feel for anybody who will suffer over the next couple of years though, and there will be many I fear.

Fuck him and his useless, crooked cronies sending this country into years of economic ruin. Hate him with a passion.

Not a lot to be liked about him at all

But at least he got rid of the poisonous unfettered backstop that May had fallen for and he is holing out against other ridiculous EU demands - so not all bad

Still an utter buffoon though

Pretty good, given I’m rooting for Brexit to be an epic shitshow and so far it’s been an epic shitshow. Highlights of this week include:

Brexit INEOS boss promising to build cars in Wales and then doing a last minute switch to France with a ‘soz lads’
More Banks moving assets to the EU.
A UK PM asking to speak to the French President and getting told he’s busy can he call you back? Spoiler. He isn’t.
Capitulating on the law breaking clauses in the IMB and facilitating the transfer of NI to the EU. In retaliation we made EU personnel in NI ‘hot desk’ rather than give them permanent office space. That’ll show ‘em!

There is probably more, but these have been the most fun.
First effect I’ve found is my Revolut account has a GB IBAN.
They wrote saying they are temporarily changing my account to a Lithuanian clearing bank. An LT IBAN. I can still use my card domestically but I all of a sudden have difficulties topping up my card from my linked Irish account.

I made a mess of access to the app on my phone and I have to get in and find my new LT IBAN which wasn’t automatically changed in my profile details like I expected.

It’s a pain in the arse but I’ll deal with it.

Its already being said its because of Covid ..... unfortunately the Eu wont allow travel from non Eu countries except for essential travel because of Covid19. Apparently i could be offered an alternative to Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus or Romania as , despite the fact these countries are in the Eu, these countries seem to have ''sovereignty'' and made their own rules.(in addition any trip to these countries does not affect my 90 day allowance in any 180 day period). Pain is tho that i can no longer rely on my EHIC Card to cover my pre existing medical conditions (my annual travel doesn't cover them) so thats going to be a massive increased cost on top of the mobile phone roaming charges if they are applied (but at least they're being capped at only £45 in any one month for 2021.

Can balance off some of the cost as I wont be hiring a car this year..... cant be arsed with the rigmarole of applying for an international licence.
????? ".......... cant be arsed with the rigmarole of applying for an international licence."

Fuck - sorting that took me 10 mins last week - and cost £5.50

If you took a day off from moaning on these threads you could probably have time to do it for a bus load of people

Every campaign, demonstration, protest, sit in, social media post, letter to the local newspaper is about voicing your opinion and trying to put your opinion and view across.

It‘s given women the vote, equal rights, gay marriage and Brexit to name but a few.

Well, not that I am interested - but please apologise, but more importantly....

You seem to have a problem understanding the words - which I have set out quite a few times now:

You know - because I have clearly told you - that I choose not to engage with you because of the repeated manner in which you twist the words of posters that you are 'engaging' with to mean other than what they actually said.

I suspect I am not alone in deciding that there is no point whatsoever in 'engaging' with someone that acts that way.

There will be others that I find worth the time to engage with that I can explain to why this would be an excellent outcome for the UK - specifically for the UK's fishing industry and more widely the TA negotiations.

I just will not spend more time - than an occasional post like this - on 'exchanges' with you or others that I find incapable of genuine debate"
Why the fuck would he apologise after you post that steaming pile of garbage to justify your long held position on fishing?
