It means only that two-thirds didn't have it as their MAIN reason for voting leave.

The distracting issue is that there are some on here who want to deny how big a factor it was at all. There's tons of research that says that is not so.

"Nearly three-quarters (73 per cent) of those who are worried about immigration voted Leave, compared with 36 per cent of those who did not identify this as a concern, the research found, showing the discrepancy in views about immigration between Remain and Leave voters."

Curiously, while there was an immediate spike in overt antipathy to immigrants (from a few), Brexit seems to have somewhat defused the issue, even though it's hardly reduced immigration.
Very interesting.
Amazing what a bit of knowledge can do.

I’m sceptical of anything these lot do but how do we know it’s shit?

It’s obviously going to be worse for trade than remaining but if it’s mostly free trade across the board, it’s going to be good enough.
It will take us back to the pre-Single Market position the whole of the EEC was in that Margaret Thatcher said was piss poor in 1988 (I'm paraphrasing by the way - I think she actually said it was fucking shit). So now it will be just us and the rest of them will continue to reap the benefits that she spelled out when drawing up the plans for the Single Market.

Anti-immigrant or anti-immigration? It's helpful to distinguish. The problem is with people who are anti-immigration because they are anti-immigrant.

I've just had lunch (at a pavement table, brrr) with my French friend who reminded me of yet another EU immigrant creating jobs in Britain - Schreiber who built office furniture in the UK (and sent his English workers on trips to Germany to learn techniques). Is that the sort of immigrant / immigration people are against?
I can't seperate the two. Both equally as nauseous in my book.

I just have zero faith in this lots ability to even care how bad or good a deal is, rather than how it looks or how they can sell it

A take on a Canada style Agreement with the EU...

Be careful what you wish for: the UK is on the brink of securing the "Canada-style comprehensive trade agreement" the Prime Minister wanted.’

Sorry Bob, myself and West Dids have this.
We’re very close to an agreement and it only took 5 minutes.
Ive given him a genuine walk away option and I think he’ll compromise.
You’ll be keeping the Scousers. I’m confident.

Do you not think that maybe the EU finally realised that they were faced with a valid walk away option and decided to move towards compromise.

Who knows. Maybe they caved in completely.
Hope not. It’d be great for you shower but shit for us.

We might even have to give NI back.
I imagine if there is a deal both sides have compromised a little, it was settled a while back, and the last couple of weeks are pure theatre to placate those that were pressuring either side not to compromise.

Nothing wrong with a bit of theatre.
Not much on nowadays, with Covid and all that.
