West Brom (h) post-match thread

I thought Gundogan was excellent tonight, the moment he moved up in front of Rodri and Cancelo, and left them to hold the middle of the pitch, our attack looked more menacing and we scored a goal.

Sterling needs a run on the bench imo, he dribbles into closed doors all the time now. Rodri is very very late at identifying passes, wastes a lot of time and momentum. Thought Cancelo started bright but grew wasteful as the game wore on.

Thrilled Pep made some subs, but we really needed to see Bernardo on and it says volumes that he, once again, left him on the bench...
 
More of the same -nothing learnt from other bus parkers. pass pass fuckin pass . Its just as well there are no crowds everyone would of gone home after 70 minutes.
No urgency ,No presence in the box ..Its like watching a bad re mix of 2011 without Dzeko to put us back in it.
If Pep is so good how come he can't figure a way round this, If its the players fault why is he buying them ,picking them and not coaching them to break the same stalemate.
 
Poor result from a very poor performance
What happened to Pep? How are we playing with two DMs against WBA?
 
Bit unfortunate, they seemed to just be a charmed side tonight.

But our side looks like a team that will end up about 6th. Decent , but nothing like what is required to challenge. Cancelo, Mendy ... Oh dear.
 
Pathetic. Truly pathetic. Worst defence in the league and we give them the easiest night of their season.

Wonder if Pep will take some responsibility tonight as he can’t blame the strikers for missing chances this time, we didn’t need create any.

From the 10th minute onwards it was obvious things weren’t working so Pep keeps it exactly the same and when he make sure subs they’re like for like what did he expect to change when it’s the system thats the problem? That’s what pellegrini used to do when he wasn’t a dead man walking.

Even at the end, instead of throwing on Bernardo/Torres/mahrez for a defender or the useless wardrobe that is Rodri he spends his time moaning at the fourth official.

All on Pep. Abysmal.

I have zero expectations with this current city set up.

we need 5 new class players to change this season & sell the same dead wood who constantly let us down. 2 strikers a must in January or champs league over too.

biggest concern is Pep! Crazy tactics & zero plan again. I just Don’t get it.

jesus, Rodri, mendy, cancello just not good enough.

sterling & Kev just don’t seem capable of what we expect.
 
remember when we were the most exciting attacking team in the league.

an absolute pleasure to watch , teams feared us . Our play was quick with so many skilful players and the balance of the team fantastic.

now we play two defensive midfielders at home against second bottom.

the table doesn’t lie. we deserve to be where we are.
