Not everything has to be a socialist revolution

I just don't get the sneering at people in London when there's hundreds of thousands of dirt poor people there who have suffered the same as anyone else. It's a ridiculously generalised way of voicing disquiet at the political class who happen to be based in London. Sorry if that sounds like a socialist revolution to you.

I’m not sneering at anyone, I am just highlighting that certain people who aren’t dirt poor, are moaning about how the city is going to cope, when Greater Manchester has been in tier 3 or lockdown for months.

It doesn’t have to be a north - south divide and we don’t need to attack the “elites”.

Well I wasn't talking to you in the first place, so feel free to rid yourself of any accusation of sneering. I was replying to somebody who was saying "if they (London) treat themselves like they treat the rest of country then perhaps it wouldn't be a problem". How is a bus driver in London dealing a poor hand out to somebody in Oldham? They're quite obviously talking about the decision makers in London and those people are treating ordinary people across the whole country with absolute derision.

My booking card for Bluemoon Wrestlemania grows by the day - at this rate we can have SummerSlam and Survivor Series.

I will be there if any very small mooners who are as soft as shit want a wrestle then I am up for being on the card.

They have to prove they are as weak as piss first though.

I think what people want is a bit of consistency and understanding.

I've just looked and we (people in Manchester) are staying in tier 3. Our cases per 100,000 are at 173.

When London went into tier 2 after lockdown, their cases per 100,000 was 197.
I may be wrong mate but weren't the tiers decided by 5 criteria and not just pop rating?

Hi from Wales.

A single tier one-size-fits-all approach hasn't been doing us much good.

It's crazy because we have 7-day case rates that vary by a factor of over 20x between widely separated local areas (e.g. between Anglesey [c.30/100K) vs Merthyr Tydfil [at times well over 700/100K]).

Anyone advocating a single tier approach needs to explain why the only GB(*) country that has used this approach since the summer has performed the worst.

(*) I say GB because I admit I don't know much about what's been happening in Northern Ireland
